NFL defends coverage of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce amid backlash they received.
During “Sunday Night Football,” NBC showed the “Bad Blood” singer several times, apparently dismissing the fact that other famous stars were in the same suite as her, including Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Hugh Jackman.
The channel also promoted Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” twice, and showed commercials featuring Travis Kelce nearly five different times.

Now, the NFL is speaking out, defending Swift and Kelce’s coverage, calling it a “pop culture moment.”
“We regularly change our bios and profile images based on what’s happening in and around our game, as well as the culture,” the NFL said in a statement to People. “The news of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has been a pop culture moment that we’ve backed up in real time, because it’s the intersection of sports and entertainment, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport.”
The league then compared it to their “Toy Story” themed coverage on Sunday mornings. “The majority of our content remains focused on the game, our players and various other initiatives, including the Toy Story Funday Football alt-cast, international games and more,” they said.
The statement came after Travis Kelce spoke about the attention he and Taylor Swift received. “I think everybody was just, like, overwhelmed,” he said.

The Kansas City Chiefs head coach posted to Instagram just moments after he said he felt the NFL should tone down Taylor Swift’s coverage, apparently once again addressing the drama.
“You gotta enjoy the craziness,” Kelce wrote alongside a photo of himself from Sunday night’s Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets game.
While none of the photos in Kelce’s Instagram post show the “Love Story” singer, it has been rumored that the two spent time together in New York City the night before the game.
Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” Will Go Around the World

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been turned into a concert film. It will be released in select theaters worldwide starting in October 2023, which the “Love Story” singer coincidentally announced a day after she first appeared at a Kansas City Chiefs game last week.
Speaking about her record-breaking tour, Swift previously expressed gratitude to her fans. “I have never been this happy in my life in all aspects of my life,” he said. “And I just want to say thank you for being a part of that. It’s not just a tour. I just feel like my life finally feels like it makes sense. So, I thought I’d play this song, which brings me a lot of happy memories.”
The film, which will run for 2 hours and 45 minutes, is directed by Sam Wrench and will give fans the chance to see Taylor Swift up close during a performance as if you were actually on stage with her.
A source told The Blast exclusively that in the United States, adult tickets will cost $19.89, referring to Taylor Swift’s upcoming release of a re-recorded version of her 2014 album “1989.” The price for children and seniors is $13.13, which is the 33-year-old songwriter’s lucky number.
