NFL Star Aaron Rodgers Goes GREEN For New Watch Design

Aaron Rodgers painted the city GREEN with his latest collaborative project!

The legendary quarterback recently teamed up with Swiss watchmaker Zenith to create the brand’s first limited edition Chronomaster Sport watch. The athlete convinced the luxury jewelry company to use its signature color green, paying homage to two NFL teams.

Aaron Rodgers Claims His First Watch Design Has Never Been Another Color

Throughout his successful career as an NFL star, Rodgers played for only two teams — the Green Bay Packers from 2005 – 2022 and the New York Jets from 2023 to now. Both teams are known for rocking green, making the bold color an important hue in the lives of media personalities.

This is why when the opportunity came for the Bart Starr Award recipient to design his first watch, the 39-year-old could only think of one suitable color. While green isn’t the shade Zenith is associated with its products, they can’t deny the importance of the color in Rodgers’ decade-plus career. Speaking about his choice, the athlete said:

“It has always been a color associated with me. My history as an NFL player has been playing green, so it was a natural.

“Zenith has never made a green watch before,” says the Chico native ELLE DECOR, did not share how he got the Swiss horology company to change their tradition. However, Rodgers has been an ambassador for the LVMH-owned brand since 2021, a position that may help his sales alongside his superstar status.

Zenith CEO Julien Tornare has no issue supporting the Associated Press Athlete of the Year honoree’s project, admitting: “I said let’s go further, let’s do it for the first time.” So what can fans expect from the Chronomaster Sport watch other than its green color? The Super Bowl MVP recipient was happy to give some pointers.

Although he declined to elaborate on the jewelry, the 39-year-old seemed to envision the watch’s yellow-tipped second hand as a tribute to his former NFL team, the Green Bay Packers. “Listen, there are a few options: black, white, yellow,” the Chico native explained, “I think it looks the best.”

The stainless steel Chronomaster Sport automatic chronograph will be a limited edition product with only 250 pieces. The watch features a classic lug-to-lug longitudinal bevel and triton register along with a ceramic 1/10 second scale bezel and lacquered dial.

Additionally, Rodgers’ design includes standard wooden numerals instead of the brand’s traditional Arabic indexes. The watch’s 3600 El Primero movement allows it to read the time at 1/10th of a second, with the second hand completing a full rotation faster than fans imagine.

As for his plans in the watch business, the 4-time NFL pass rusher admitted that he is testing the waters with his first project. “Let’s see how this one goes. Maybe it’s time to reach for my star in watchmaking,” the iconic quarterback chimed in.

Aaron Rodgers Teases NFL Return Week After Surgery

Zenith Introduces Limited Edition Watch Designed by Brand Ambassador Aaron RodgersMEGA

A few weeks before talking about his collaborative project with Zenith, the NFL star surprised fans with the speed of his recovery after surgery. The confidential procedure, described as “season-ending,” saw Rodgers walk around with crutches until early October.

The athlete arrived at MetLife Stadium in a golf cart to support his team during the game. However, he proved his resilience by walking around unaided, as seen in a viral video. The quarterback took the plunge by joining his New York Jets teammates in their pregame warm-up.

Rodgers put the full weight on his ankle, throwing the ball to his teammates while looking better than ever without a crutch. The happy moment came four and a half weeks after the media personality’s surgery, a feat the entertainer showed off on Instagram with a photo of his practice session with the New York Jets.

Despite teasing fans with his recovery, the 39-year-old admits he won’t be returning to the NFL season any time soon. “We’re pretty far ahead just saying that,” explained the NFL’s 2-time passing touchdown leader and then added, “They’re just markers. You see me walking without a stick and throwing on the field. Another marker will be jogging.”

“And then the other markers will go through pre-game training, maybe, and get on the training pitch. All this will take time. There are critical markers that I need to hit,” Rodgers concluded. Still, reaching his first mark of walking without crutches is a remarkable achievement for the 39-year-old athlete.
