The 42-year-old admits that he doesn’t mind picking up where they left off if he’s confident he won’t screw things up. Cannon explained, “It’s really like a fairy tale with Mariah, so I prefer it that way, and I appreciate that fantasy.”
He added, “because if I try to go back and it’s not the same, I’ll be like, ‘Damn, I messed it up.'” Still, if their relationship can go back “to the way it was before,” the actor doesn’t mind giving it another go because Carey is love in his life.

She then welcomed her seventh child, Zen, with Scott in June 2021, who died shortly after.
