Nick Cannon Says Staying Divorced From Mariah Carey Is ‘Healthier’ For Their Children

TV host and comedian Nick Cannon has weighed in on the recurring question of whether he would consider reconciling with Mariah Carey.

Cannon stated it would be “healthier” for Carey and their children if they stayed divorced instead of “re-creating” their past. They have been married for eight years and are now co-parents to their twins, Morocco and Monroe.

The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” actress previously compared living with the singer to “Trump and Putin living in the same house.”

In a recent interview, Nick Cannon, 42, shared his thoughts on the possibility of remarrying his ex, Mariah Carey. The “Wild ‘N Out” host expressed caution stating that such an action would be “unhealthy” for her and their children.

Cannon and Carey were married from 2008 to 2014 and share two children together. Despite their divorce, the former couple remain on good terms and have co-parented their children. In a recent appearance on “The Jason Lee Show,” she explained that she believes their current arrangement is working well and adding complications to a new marriage could be detrimental.

“That was over a decade ago, and we’re like best friends now,” he began, per Insider. “I feel like with all the craziness and shit I’ve collected… I feel like it’s going to be too hard. One, I believe he is in a relationship, and he is happy. I don’t want to disturb you.”

Cannon continued, “At the same time, I feel like for our kids, which is the best thing and the thing that we both focus on, this scenario is much healthier for all of us. Because if we are all under one house, especially in the age we live in, I think the enemy will try to attack from many different ways.

Cannon reiterated his stance about not being interested in marriage again. “I speak very highly, but I don’t want him anymore, and that’s only because he’s moved on. I’ve moved a few times, so, now we can co-exist like we do,” said the “Nick Cannon Show” host.

He continued, “But if I tried to recreate our love story that we had before, it wouldn’t be as good. We have to see it, we live it, and we can tell that story in the grand scheme of things, these milliseconds that we operate in molecules this.”

Cannon has fathered ten more children by 5 different women since divorcing the “Always Be My Baby” singer.

In a recent interview, Cannon likened his experience living with Mariah Carey to former president Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin living under the same roof.

“Imagine if, like, Trump and Putin had to live in the same house,” he said, per LA Times, because he began to qualify their coexistence. “It’s not about him and me — we’ve always been good. It’s more about us understanding that instead of making it about our relationship and what I or you want, we just have to do what’s best for the kids.”

In a previous episode of “The Hot Tee Talk Show,” he referred to the singer as his “fantasy love” and would consider remarrying him if their love could be “the way it used to be.” Cannon expressed his belief in love but shared that he didn’t think he would ever experience love like he did with Carey.

“It’s really like a fairy tale with Mariah, so I prefer it as it is, and I appreciate that fantasy because if I try to go back and it’s not the same, I’ll be like, ‘Damn, I messed it up,'” he shared. But if I have the opportunity, I’m there if it can be that way.”
