Nicki Minaj Lawsuit Over Alleged Damaged Jewelry Dismissed

A lawsuit filed against Nicki Minaj, accusing her of damaging expensive jewelry, has been dismissed.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the petitioners want all causes of action dismissed after a five-month legal battle between the two parties.

According to legal documents, the petitioners filed a Motion to Dismiss on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, asking the court to dismiss “all parties’ actions and all causes of action” without prejudice.

This doesn’t look too good for the “Barbie Tingz” rapper as “without prejudice” indicates that charges could still be re-filed in the future. It’s unclear whether Minaj and the client, Roseark Boutique, made any financial exchange for the settlement, but it’s possible the plaintiffs could either amend their claims or return to court with more serious charges against the famous rapper.

Regardless, the plaintiff also asked the court not to waive “court fees and costs for the parties in this case.” However, the parties have not been identified.

In June, the boutique accused Nicki of ruining the pieces they lent her and claimed that she returned them late in a lawsuit.

In the filing, the plaintiff claims that the Trini-born rapper was loaned the piece for the look through a relationship with her stylist Brett Alan Nelson. A contract was signed for the jewelry costing $26,239.50. However, the stylist has been accused of failing to return the items she borrowed despite the boutique contacting Nelson several times.

Roseark Boutique claims that Nelson did not return the 66 pieces loaned by the agreed contract deadline. To make matters worse, two pieces were allegedly significantly damaged when they were eventually returned — a set of earrings and a leaf ring.

The store also claims they were never paid for their collaboration by Minaj or her stylist Nelson and is asking them to collect damages from both parties. The exact amount of compensation was not disclosed.

Following the allegations, the “Anaconda” artist denied all claims through his lawyer in a statement, saying:

“We have not been presented with any evidence that Nicki damaged any of the jewelry in question. This claim appears to be nothing more than a typical insurance claim by a jeweler designed to generate publicity for himself and extract undeserved fees. We will vigorously defend the lawsuit.”

A source seemed to confirm Minaj’s denial, claiming the boutique received the jewelry on time and in a manner lent to the stylist and rapper. Also, they reportedly didn’t complain about the pieces until they already had them in their possession after an undisclosed period.

Nicki Minaj Is Ready To Rock Back

Aside from the lawsuit, the iconic female rapper is thriving in her career with the release of her highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Pink Friday 2” on December 8th.

After fans get a taste of their idol’s new project, they’ll be able to see it on stage at the 2024 Rolling Loud Festival in Miami. The gathering is one of the biggest hip-hop festivals in the world, attracting hundreds of thousands of fans every year.

Minaj’s return to the Rolling Loud stage is sure to be a big deal, considering her performance in March was riddled with technical issues. The mother of one was due to celebrate the release of her single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” and perform her classic and new songs.

However, his plans did not materialize after the event’s audio struggled to sync with his planned set list. Minaj looked upset during the performance and was heard shouting, “Kill the DJ! Kill that sound man!”

According to insiders, the issue may have been caused by the sound team rather than the DJ, as his mentor, Lil Wayne, had a smooth performance before. Nevertheless, Minaj is back to headline next year alongside Post Malone and Lil Uzi Vert.

Other artists on the lineup include YG & Tyga, Party Next Door, Rae Sremmurd, Summer Walker, Big Sean, Flo Milli, Bryson Tiller, Don Toliver and Sukihana. Junior H, Fuerza Regida, and Nathanael Cano.
