Hollywood veteran Nicolas Cage has just welcomed his first child with his wife, Riko Shibata. The actor was previously married to Erika Koike; however, he called off the four-day wedding in 2020. The 2021 wedding to Shibata will be the 58-year-old’s fifth wedding.

Cage had two sons from his previous unions with Christina Fulton and Alice Kim, making his child with Shibata his third. The couple married in 2021 after being introduced to each other in Japan by mutual friends. The actor proceeded to propose to Shibata via FaceTime and sent him the ring.

Cage first mentioned that they were expecting in April of this year while promoting one of his films. He revealed that he is excited to become a father to a daughter after having two sons in his lifetime. The baby girl was born on September 7.

The representative revealed that the couple is very excited and both mother and baby are doing well after delivery. The baby girl’s name is clearly different from what Cage previously said he wanted to name her.
