Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is the only GOP presidential candidate who would beat President Biden in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, according to a new poll.
Haley, 51, has a six percentage point lead over Biden, 80, in a CNN/SSRS poll released Thursday – with the president trailing Haley 49% to 43%.
He is the only Republican candidate to send Biden beyond a margin of error of 3.5 voting points.
Meanwhile, the other GOP candidates are all running with Biden below the margin of error.
Former President Donald Trump, 77, won 47% to Biden’s 46% and former Vice President Mike Pence, 64, edged him 46% to 44%.
Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), 57, leads the president 46% to 44% and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, 61, edges out Biden 44% to 42%.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis leads Biden at 47% apiece, while multi-billionaire biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy trails Biden 45% to 46%.
The poll sampled 1,259 registered voters from August 25 to 31.
