Offset Returns To Performing, Pays Special Tribute To Late Takeoff

Offset is gradually returning to the stage weeks after the shooting and death of former Migos member Takeoff.

Since the pair share a bond outside of music thanks to their relationship as cousins, fans expect the rapper to take a longer break from public appearances. However, he has chosen to return to a concert performance where he pays tribute to his late cousin before beginning his set.

In case you missed it, Takeoff was fatally shot at a casino after he attended a private party in Houston, Texas. While the news of his death shocked the world, it was especially painful for his Migos partners Offset and Quavo — who have yet to post on social media since the Nov. 11 funeral.

As for Offset, the “MotorSport” rapper has shared occasional glimpses of his grief and memories with fans on social media. In fact, the father of five tweeted that he was in a “dark place” on December 8 and asked fans to only talk about his cousin in a “good light” a few days later.

Now, the 30-year-old has dropped an Instagram video showing a DJ playing a slow version of Jackson 5’s “Never Can Say Goodbye” with an image of Departure behind his booth.

The rapper was seen stepping out of the shadows to stand in front of the picture, immediately raising his hands and singing along. She wrote, “Before every show I love you bra,” under the post.

“Every day pray brother…. So sorry all this happened, I’m sorry,” commented Tyrese. One fan added, “I feel sorry for the balancing act, I can tell this really hurts her! Make sure to take the name of life ik he thinks [love emoji].”

Another fan said, “Oh God, I still miss him like I knew him. I’m sorry,” and a third claimed, “I can really tell that this is so hard, ROCKET HUMAN ALWAYS AND WILL FOREVER LOVE YOU. [love and praying hands emojis]. We will keep his name until there is no tomorrow [praying hands emojis].”

A fourth fan fired off some rocket emojis before advising Offset to “keep making him proud into the next life.”

Fans of the “Clout” hitmaker have rallied around him since Takeoff’s death, which occurred on November 1. The Blast shared that his tweet on Dec. 8 sparked a flurry of comments, with one person writing, “Sending you our love and prayers – for you and your family, Dear Brother.”

A second Twitter user encouragingly responded, “You got this offset. Take off soaring in the sky, waiting for you all to drop some shots and make sure you all keep his legacy alive…in your hearts and minds…and let his voice speak through the words of your music!!!”

Others wished him the light and peace he needed at such a time. The tweet has received over a hundred thousand likes and 11,000 retweets since it went live.

Late last month, The Blast noticed that Offset took to his Instagram to share a photo of Takeoff, writing a simple message underneath. In the photo, the late “Walk It Talk It” rapper wears a custom-made light blue jacket with a quilted style belt and square buckles on both sides.

The eye-catching jacket was layered over a colorful printed t-shirt and a pair of sparkling diamond necklaces. Take off adding a pair of luxurious dark shades with her signature big, long braids that frame her face. The late rapper smiled delicately as he stared straight into the camera.

Offset wrote her a message, stating, “Miss everything about you especially that smile.” The “Get Right Witcha” rapper’s post immediately caught the attention of the public, garnering over two million likes from followers worldwide. Many expressed words of encouragement and a string of heart-wrenching emojis in the comments section.

He then proceeded to his Story to upload a full squad photo of himself, Take Off, and Quavo, at what appeared to be an event. The 28-year-old was seated between two others, who took their seats and stood by his side.
