Oklahoma school receives bomb threats over librarian pushing ‘woke agenda’

A Tulsa elementary school was bombarded with bomb threats after the popular account Libs of TikTok reposted a librarian’s video about pushing a “wage agenda.”

Ellen Ochoa Elementary Librarian Kirby Mackenzie posted a TikTok video last week with a graphic that said, “POV: Teachers in your state are dropping like flies but you’re still not done continuing your public school wake-up call.”

The video was quickly taken by TikTok libs and reposts to Twitter with the caption: “This is an elementary school librarian in Oklahoma… She’s pushing a ‘woke agenda’ with an ’emphasis on social justice.’”

The video was reposted by Chaya Raichik – owner of Libs TikTok – without Mackenzie’s original caption, which read: “My radical liberal agenda is teaching kids to love books and be kind.”

The reposted video got 2.6 million views, while Mackenzie’s original video fell short of the coveted 1 million mark.

However, shortly after Raichik reposted the video, Ellen Ochoa Elementary began receiving bomb threats.

The email, seen by KFOR, from a sender named “Made John” said, “The innocence of children is sacred, that’s a known fact throughout human history and the end of a civilization like that of ancient Rome is often marked by the normalization of pedophilia and child abuse – children.

“I will not remain silent as you b—— continue to indoctrinate and prey on our children. That’s why we put bombs in schools. You will clear the building so that no one dies.”

“Made John” also reportedly threatened to blow up Mackenzie’s house, too.

The school delayed the start of school to bring in bomb-sniffing dogs to scour the school grounds, Tulsa Police Department Capt. Richard Muelenberg IV told KFOR.

“We locked it. We will do everything we can to keep the area safe because the most important thing is these children. You have to protect your children. More often than not, you know, it’s just people looking for attention. They want to disrupt a system,” he told a local outlet.

The next day, the school received another threat from a sender named “Yesyy,” according to KFOR.

“We planted a bomb at Ellen Ochoa Elementary. You will stop pushing this vigilante ideology or we will bomb every school in the union district,” the email read.

“Yesyy” also threatens Mackenzie’s house.

The school followed a shelter-in-place for a short time while police investigated.

“It’s become kind of a crying wolf situation now,” Muelenberg told KFOR. “The bottom line is this is not allowed. It is not something that is acceptable in society. You know, you’re basically endangering the lives of innocent children who have nothing to do with any of your problems. That’s not going to be good and we’re going to prosecute and we’re going to find these people and we’re going to put them in jail.

He continued: “We’re going to find this person and we’re going to come wherever, wherever your little tent is now, you know, send your email. We will come and find you. We will arrest you.”

Union Public Schools Chief Communications Officer Chris Payne said Mackenzie’s original message was misinterpreted and that she had “no malicious agenda.”

“None of that. It’s just a misunderstanding,” he said. ‘He is one of our old librarians, very well respected, has done a lot of excellent work at the Union. We stand behind Kirby. He is a great worker.”

The librarian is at school this week.
