Actress Olivia Munn has opened up about her cancer diagnosis.
Highlighting her intention to help others like her, the actress informed her 2.9 million followers that she had undergone four surgeries in the past few months, including a double mastectomy.

On Tuesday, Munn uploaded a ten-slide post that included multiple photos and a video of her in a gown and hospital room.
In between arrests, the 43-year-old released a statement detailing his ordeal since he was diagnosed with cancer in February 2023.
According to her, the journey began after she proactively “took a genetic test that checks you for 90 different cancer genes” and “tested negative for all, including BRA (the most well-known breast cancer gene).”
However, two months after she “had a normal mammogram,” she was diagnosed with breast cancer. He continued:
“In the past ten months, I’ve had four surgeries, spent so many days in bed I can’t count, and have learned more about cancer, cancer treatment and hormones than I ever imagined.”

In the midst of it all, Munn managed to keep “diagnosis and anxiety and recovery and pain medication and paper gowns private.”
As it turns out, she wouldn’t have known about her condition until her “next scheduled mammogram” if it weren’t for her OBGYN, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi decided to test her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score.
“He found my lifetime risk to be at 37%. Because of that score, I was sent to get an MRI, which led to an ultrasound, which then led to a biopsy,” Munn wrote before noting that she underwent a double mastectomy a month later.
After stating that she was “lucky” to have the disease when she “had a choice,” the “Ride Along 2” star expressed her gratitude to her family, friends and medical staff for helping her through it.

In less than an hour after Munn shared the news along with the words, “I hope that by sharing this it will help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their own journeys,” fans and celebrities have responded.
While Mindy Kaling expressed her love for the birth mother, Munn’s partner John Mulaney wrote, “Thank you for fighting so hard to be here for us,” and Ariel Winter stated, “Sending love & healing to you and your family . You are very strong.”
At the same time, one fan declared, “Always in awe of your tenacity, strength and courage. Thank you for sharing your story.”
“Thank you for sharing and connecting with us on such a deep level. You are brilliant and have the perfect support system around you,” another Instagram user said, and a third fan commented:

It Takes A Year After Giving Birth For Munn To Feel ‘Comfortable’ Again
Munn’s revelation about her cancer diagnosis isn’t the first time she’s opened up about a personal struggle. In July 2023, she told her fans about feeling like herself again after a “rough” postpartum journey.
As The Blast reported at the time, the “New Girl” alum, who welcomed her son, Malcolm Hiêp Mulaney, in 2021, wrote via her Instagram Story:
“I’m afraid to get dressed again. My baby is 19 months old, but postpartum was hard for me (a whole year), and another six months waiting for my skin, hair and body to come back. I feel comfortable in my skin again.”
The confession was accompanied by a re-aired clip of her stunning appearance in a black dress, which she wore to the wedding of award-winning journalist Kelley L. Carter.

Then in 2023, Munn shared another testament to being completely comfortable in his skin when he and his men stepped out for Dwyane Wade’s induction into the NBA Hall of Fame.
