Olivia Munn and her partner John Mulaney who never stop sharing special family moments on social media, are definitely living their best lives as loving parents to their little boy Malcolm.
Recently, a parent marked a milestone for a tot after taking the phone away from him to cut down on screen time.
Olivia Munn Shares First Time Her Son Says No Amid Phone Ban
Munn recently shared a video on Instagram featuring none other than little Malcolm, showing his displeasure at being banned from using the phone.
In the clip, the actor records his son’s protests as he removes the recording device. He reached out, tried to grab the phone, and said the word “No” out loud before repeating it in a softer note. The 1-year-old protested vigorously, repeating the word “no” with a displeased face, but he was soon disarmed.
Touched by his enthusiasm, his mama laughs in the background, causing him to grin and dance on the chair in response. His father can also be heard laughing in the background. Malcolm, filmed in the kitchen, looks like he’s just finished eating because his mouth and shirt are dirty, as is the leaning table.
On the other side of the reel, Munn wrote, “When he pushed it too far with that last ‘No'” and in the caption, he wrote, “This is the first time Malcolm has said no, and he can’t even take himself seriously.”
He continued, “He wanted the phone, but we made a new rule: no more phones or dining tables unless it was a code red emergency like a long day of travel.” More than 27k fans were obsessed with the video, including hundreds who took to the comments to share similar experiences and praise the 42-year-old for reducing Malcolm’s screen time.
“Beautiful dear,” said one follower. “Has expressed himself verbally! Well done with the screen results. It’s very difficult, but seeing their imaginations grow is worth it.” Another fan said, “It’s great to see what they get up to when they’re off screen (no onscreen hate, of course, everyone needs a break!).”
A few more were taken with Malcolm’s funny expression at the end of the video, including one who wrote, “His smile took away whatever was in his mouth and sweater.” A second commenter noted that the one-year-old “is already an entertainer,” while another noted, “You’ve got an actor on your hands. Great performance Malcolm.”

The entertaining post comes after The Blast reported that Munn showed the world just how amazing her baby’s comprehension skills are when she pointed out the correct animal sounds.
On Instagram, the “Beyond the Break” actress dropped a video of the toddler in an oversized blue and white onesie and sitting on her dad’s lap, having fun. Mulaney wore a gray sweatshirt and black pants as he challenged his son with questions from the book.
He points to a snake in a children’s book, prompting Malcolm to imitate the sounds the snake makes. The boy got it right in no time, prompting the “SNL” alum to repeat the same request but for a pig. Malcolm grunted playfully in response adding a flawless “oink”, causing the room to laugh at the hilarious imitation.
The post, captioned with snake and pig emojis, became a favorite among Munn’s fans as they commented on how cute Malcolm was. Also, some people appreciate the “Big Stan” actor for always including them in his motherhood journey, which never fails to fill their days.
The ‘Magic Mike’ actor is not yet ready to see his son become independent
Malcolm is thriving and becoming more independent, much to the surprise of his doting mother, who admitted in January that she wasn’t ready to relinquish her motherly role.
She told her fans on Instagram using a short clip of her baby boy trying and successfully opening the door, without Munn’s help. While the child’s father was excited about the development, saying, “You opened it” in the video, the “Date Night” actress didn’t share the same enthusiasm given her caption.
“He opened the door now???” she wrote on the clip before exclaiming in the caption, “Oh no… I’m not ready! Aggghh.” As expected, commentators rushed to react to the remarkable achievement, including Mulaney, who joked, “I should have taught him to tap first.”
A second follower then advises parents to “start baby-proofing,” noting that the technique can also confuse fathers.
