Bethany Joy Lenz revealed heartbreaking news about her past on this week’s “One Tree Hill” rewatch podcast.

Lenz, who played young mom and musician Haley James-Scott on the classic teen drama “One Tree Hill” from 2003 to 2012, sat down with “Drama Queens” co-hosts Hilarie Burton-Morgan (Peyton Sawyer) and Sophia Bush (Brooke Davis ) on Monday, and the three discussed a very personal aspect of Lenz’s personal life.

The “One Tree Hill” cast has gotten very personal on “Drama Queens” before. The three have notably discussed their refusal to pose on the cover of Maxim magazine in the mid-aughts, and have discussed a discourse involving disgraced showman Marc Schwann.

Not only did Lenz reveal the giant decade-long aspect of his life, he told his co-host how he plans to make peace with it and share more details with the public.

On Monday’s episode of “Drama Queens,” the “One Tree Hill” actress revealed she has been a member of the cult for 10 years. However, he did not reveal the name of the cult.

Lenz’s reported plan to come to terms with his past involves putting pen to paper—something he already does regularly, he told his friends and co-host for Monday’s episode, Michelle McManus. (per People Magazine)

He noted that his experience “will be a very valuable experience to write about…” Lenz also revealed the amount of time it took him to recover from the experience, “and the recovery, 10 years of recovery after that. So there’s a lot to tell.”

There’s also a lot that goes into making sure the actor gets the right experience; dealing with such an important chapter in his life made Lenz a little nervous. He stated, “The pressure to get it right and everything has to be real and everyone involved.”

Although he has yet to make any concrete plans to write a memoir about his experience, Lenz revealed he has been writing about the experience personally for a while.

Regarding the writing process, Lenz added, “Other than that, I don’t know how much I can say because there are still people and legal things in place that make it more complicated for that time. But I write. I write all the time.”
