Peyton Sawyer likes to commemorate all the big moments of his life through music and art, and the woman who brought him to life also had something to do with recording his story.
“The Grimoire Girl” chronicles Burton-Morgan’s lifelong commitment to keeping track of her life, which, according to the book’s synopsis, begins to show the actress the true meaning behind why she’s always been drawn to cataloging her life story.
Parenthood pushed Burton-Morgan to discover who she was through her lifelong recordings. The author of “Country Diary” is suddenly faced with the thought of artifacts from his life that he wants to gift to his children (he and Morgan have a son and a daughter).
Through his research, Burton-Morgan’s gathering apparently turned into a book called a grimoire.
Occultists may be familiar with grimoires. Merriam-Webster’s definition of a grimoire is “A magician’s manual for summoning demons and the spirits of the dead.”
For Burton-Morgan, her personal experience with grimoires has to do with “a significant collection of lifelong learning,” and it serves as “a guide to keep you alive.” (Harper Collins).
Readers will be able to read “The Grimoire Girl” and better understand the actress as they get to see “the things that have kept Hilarie alive” throughout her life. “The Grimoire Girl” features illustrations, stories and ways readers can incorporate the vibe of magic into their lives.
The book also features “Practical ways” for magic readers to start their altars and combines “poetry spells, flower magic and recipes for everyday charms.”
