Oregon mom jailed for waterboarding baby, putting him in freezer as ‘test’ for dad

An Oregon mother has been jailed for 30 days after she drenched her baby before putting him in the freezer as a brutal “test” to see if the baby’s father “gives a damn”.

Sharday McDonald, 30, pleaded guilty to charges of criminal mistreatment, ID theft and witness tampering after police discovered the baby had been abused during a welfare check on October 28, 2021.

When officers came to McDonald’s Gresham, Ore., apartment after receiving a call that a baby had been placed in the refrigerator, police heard him yelling at the child’s father, Kendrick Neal.

“I will show you quickly. Don’t you want him?” McDonald was heard shouting. “Let me show you this little f–king baby, I don’t wanna f–king give a f–k,” according to WPDE.

McDonald was sentenced to 30 days in jail on Tuesday, the outlet added.

Multnomah County Detention Center records show that McDonald will be released on Oct. 6.

He pleaded guilty to the charge on July 28.

When police visited his apartment in 2021, McDonald answered the door, according to an affidavit obtained by Fox Digital.

Questioned by officers, McDonald said he was not trying to harm the child, despite putting the baby under running water before pushing him into the freezer, according to documents.

Prosecutors who spoke with a pediatrician after reviewing the images said it was possible the child had difficulty breathing during the ordeal.

According to KATU, McDonald told the officer that he acted “out of revenge.”

McDonald was charged with two counts of criminal mischief in the first degree and reckless endangerment.

He was also charged with one count of identity theft and one count of witness tampering in an unrelated case.
