A few years ago, Paige VanZant went on “Good Morning America” where she opened up and was candid with fans as she discussed her childhood and how she overcame the sexual assault incidents she faced.
“I had nowhere to run, I had no one to turn to, and when it got bad enough, I had to run to the bathroom and eat lunch on the toilet in the bathroom because I was too scared to eat lunch in the cafeteria, ” he told “Good Morning America” regarding the bullying he faced in high school.
At just 14 years old, VanZant was sexually assaulted at a party, which she says completely changed her, even admitting she wanted to end her life because of the pain she faced. “I don’t see any other way out,” he continued to tell “Good Morning America.” “When you’re in that position, when you feel so much pain, it’s not that you want to die, but you don’t want to be in pain anymore.”
But then VanZant found MMA fighting. “MMA fights definitely saved my life. It also saved me as a human being,” he said.
