Parents of Chiefs fan found frozen to death alongside 2 friends in yard think trio was drugged, ‘dragged’ outside by scientist pal: ‘He concocted something’

The family of one of three Kansas City Chiefs fans found mysteriously dead in a friend’s snowy yard has wildly suggested they could have been drugged and left for dead.

Ricky Johnson’s father made the explosive and unfounded claims despite police clarifying they are not treating the death as suspicious and have insisted it is not yet clear whether drink or drugs were involved.

Fellow housemate, respected HIV data scientist Jordan Willis, also vehemently denied knowing anything about the fate of his three dying friends, maintaining he slept inside with headphones on.

Ricky Johnson Sr. told Fox News Digital that her 38-year-old son was not “irresponsible” and would not go outside in the snow without a coat to freeze to death with his friends, David Harrington, 37, and Clayton McGeeney, 36.

“I believe he hit them, dragged them outside and waited two days to call the police,” Johnson Sr. said. about Willis, whose attorney dismissed the claim as “absurd.”

“He may have done some drugs and stuff in the past, but I don’t believe all three of them did drugs and dropped dead in that backyard,” Johnson Sr. said. about his son, who has three children of his own.

“I wouldn’t say that during the match he didn’t drink. But he is irresponsible that he will go outside and freeze to death,” she claimed of her son, whose coat was left inside the rented house where his friends were watching the match.

“You’re talking about three grown men. If he’s out there just as cold as they say, he can kick out the window to get into the house,” the father continued.

Johnson’s mother, Norma Chester, shared a similar theory, admitting it was just her “thought” and not based on specific evidence.

“Seriously, this is the guy in charge. How did they get into the backyard and freeze to death, all three of them?” he asked the news site.

“Something crossed my mind, this man [Willis] I want to brag that he is a scientist. My thoughts are that he made something up and gave it to the three men,” he said.

“How could this happen?”

The Kansas City Police Department said foul play is not suspected as detectives await autopsy and toxicology reports.

“This case is 100% NOT being investigated as a homicide,” Captain Jake Becchina told Fox News Digital.

Willis’ attorney, John Picerno, also quickly dismissed the wild theory as nothing more than “baseless allegations” from grieving parents struggling to make sense of the tragedy.

“That’s ridiculous,” Picerno told Fox News Digital of Johnson’s parents’ comments. “He’s a scientist, and somehow he’s to blame? That’s an opinion that is not based on facts.”

Picerno further asserted that Willis and the victim were close friends.

“There is no allegation of any animosity between Jordan and his three friends,” Picerno said of the trio, two of whom he has known since high school. “People want to speculate, [but] it’s not like anyone ever called the police saying, ‘We’re afraid of this Jordan guy.’”

“I understand people are hurting, but that’s no reason to throw baseless accusations at Jordan.”

Picerno did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for further comment on Wednesday.

The victim’s relatives said that when police officers responded to the home, Willis met them at the door in his boxers with an empty wine glass in hand.

Willis’ attorney told the news outlet that the stemware contained water and had been refilled after being used to drink wine the night before.

In a valuable interview with The Post, Picerno said his client was “sleeping on the couch” while the victim’s relatives spent two days frantically searching for them.

“He is sleeping. He fell asleep on the couch. The last memory he had was of them leaving [out] front door, he didn’t know what was going on, um, with them, until you know, when the police came Tuesday night to his house,” Picerno said.

The attorney later told Fox News Digital that Willis didn’t hear anyone knocking on the door because he slept with noise-cancelling headphones and a loud fan.
