On Wednesday evening, the “Anna” actress posed naked on Instagram, hiding her chest behind the open cover of her book. She smiled for the shot, letting her long blonde hair fall in loose waves over her shoulders. In his lengthy caption, he explains how he began writing his book.
“Two years ago, Maria Shriver called me to ask if I would write a book about my experiences as a middle-aged woman for her new imprint. Oh, and can I do it in 3 months? Turns out I can. But not without help,” wrote Paulina. “My agent Marly Rusoff, a woman of great experience, insight and intelligence, immediately picked up on this, and introduced me to author Kerry Egan.”
“@kerryeganwriter became my first reader and midwifed the book from me. (His book of essays #onliving continues to inspire me, I read it often for perspective on life, aging and death),” he explained. “Then it was Amy Sun’s turn to edit, and then arrange the essays in order, which she did with the softest and brightest touch that belied her firm hand.”
Giving credit where credit is due, Paulina went on to say, “Lindsay Prevette is my publicist who gets me a million podcasts, Jill Daniels @jillconnection who runs #happywomendinners allows me to meet so many of you and my girlfriend @thelizcarey takes the thirst trap photos for my IG.”
‘Each time, my book was born and swaddled and nursed by a woman’
“At all times, my books were born and swaddled and nursed by women,” he continued. “No one shames women more effectively or more often than other women. But it is also true that as we grow older and understand the nature of competition that has been set for us by the patriarchal world, we are free to discard it. Instead, with age, we turn to hug each other, to support each other, to comfort each other.
“Thank you to all the Good, Bad(-a–) and yes, Beautiful Women, who have taken this journey with me and are still eager to continue exploring what’s next,” he wrote. “Thanks for the wonderful review on Amazon, (it really helps the author).”
Thank you for coming to see me at a book event – nowhere and never have I felt so completely connected. Thank you for being my friend on IG. I am very grateful to all of you,” he concluded.
