The trailer for the dual game has been released and this is the moment fans have been waiting for, for a while and with it comes another surprise, an unexpected new song by Ed Sheeran titled “Celestial”. Fans of the game took to Twitter to slam Nintendo and call out the singer for “ruining” their time.
“Nintendo says to wake up early for Pokémon news just because it’s a stupid Ed Sheeran song and no starter evo,” wrote one depressed fan of the game.
The comments got worse from there as fans noticed that the trailer also didn’t offer much in the way of evolution or other interesting elements that games like this thrive on.

“I hope Pokémon will warn us that we need to listen to Ed Sheeran today,” commented an upset fan.
“Nearly 4 minute trailer set for Ed Sheeran only to reveal Pokémon’s regional crystal gem form,” said another follower.
“They put an Ed Sheeran song in the trailer for the new Pokémon game and all it does is emphasize how lifeless the character is and it actually scares me, like it’s not for the game in general.”
Clearly, fans of the show, turned gaming phenomenon sorry for what happened here. “You told me I had to listen to Ed Sheeran for a remix of everything we’ve seen,” said another.

Some fans have embraced the new song and aren’t too disappointed with the collaboration. “For me, the official Pokémon video on Ed Sheeran’s song is a dream… I’m very emotional right now,” admitted a brave fan of both entities.
One fan admitted to liking it but joked about the situation.
“Am I the only one who cried during the trailer because Ed Sheeran did an amazing job on the song and 25 years of Pokémon flashed before my eyes? No? Just me? Cold 😭 but man is amazing!”
They have no support for that comment. Some people admitted the trailer was annoying, but they were impressed that they “really synced his screams to Ed Sheeran,” referring to the team leader yelling in a war cry situation.
“I’m really excited to play Pokémon Scarlet. That last trailer legitimately made me cry. I forgot how good Ed Sheeran can sound but damn does he fit the vibe,” said the Pokémon fan and “Shape of You” singer.
Ed Sheeran’s song has nothing to do with Pokémon
Fans also pointed out that Nintendo only used the singer because of popularity and only used songs that didn’t mean anything to the hugely popular franchise.
“I still don’t understand why they made Ed Sheeran do a weird song that has nothing to do with Pokémon but can’t do the voice acting in the game cutscene 😭,” said one follower. from the trend.
Another fan echoed those sentiments. “Nobody wants Ed Sheeran in their Pokémon trailer like nobody wants him in Game of Thrones. 😂 Love love.”
