Pregnant Ciara Honors Kobe Bryant With Colorful Ensemble And Dance Moves

Ciara takes time to remember Kobe Bryant!

The former NBA superstar was one of the nine victims of a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020 — a tragedy that also claimed the life of his daughter Gianna. The “How We Roll” singer’s tribute to the basketball icon comes a day after his 45th birthday.

Ciara Dedicates Her Ensemble To The Late Kobe Bryant

The singer, who is currently expecting her fourth child with husband Russell Wilson, felt even more nostalgic on Thursday as she reflected on fond memories of the late NBA legend.

Ciara posted a video of her Grammy-nominated hit song by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s “The Next Episode” played in the background to celebrate the announcement of Kobe’s upcoming statue unveiling ceremony.

The “Level Up” hitmaker grooves and shows off her dance moves in this clip while rocking a custom jersey with one of the sports star’s iconic photos. She wore a pair of black cargo pants and white and black sneakers to go with the top, designed by Faded NYC owner Dominique Wilkins.

Other components of the “Like A Boy” singer’s look included her curly blonde hair, a diamond necklace and blue-rimmed sunglasses. Referring to the momentous date the statue of the Los Angeles Lakers player was unveiled at the Crypto.com Arena, Ciara wrote in her caption: “Ladadadada….It’s #MambaDay 2.8.24 Forever.”

The star’s nod to Kobe is sure to get some kind words from his fans. One wrote, “The ONLY woman who can match Chris Brown and Michael Jackson!!” A second person wrote, “Love this so much!!! Such a light ??.”

A third fan commented, “This makes me smile. I love how relaxed you look ? ? ?,” while another shared, “Forever the forest!!! ?? ?.”

This monumental tribute from the singer-songwriter comes as no surprise since he is close friends with Vanessa Bryant — Kobe’s wife and mother of his three surviving children. The friends seem to have grown closer following the departure of the five-time NBA championship winner. But Vanessa and Ciara’s friendship grew stronger over time.

Ciara posted a message of sympathy on Instagram to the grieving widow on the day of the accident. He wrote, “This news is heartbreaking. I am at a loss for words. Praying for @VanessaBryant, the Bryant family and other families who have lost someone.”

In August 2020, the “Love Sex Magic” singer shared a moment with Vanessa and her children. “Seeing you and the girls smile makes my heart smile. You are the toughest mom I know,” Ciara tweeted earlier write:

“Seeing you put one foot forward every day is amazing. It’s not easy, but if I know one thing, Mamba Queen can do it all. Love you V.”

A month later, Vanessa replied to the post, “love you, C.” The two ladies have made several appearances on each other’s social media since then, from holiday getaways to slumber parties. The “Gimmie Dat” singer became very close with Vanessa’s eldest daughter Natalia Bryant, even appearing in a dance video together.

The world lost a star, and indeed, the Bryant family suffered the most significant loss. Although he’s been dead for three years now, Kobe’s legacy lives on, and he’s one of the few dead NBA legends still making millions.

He retired in 2016 and, despite that, is one of the highest paid players in NBA history. At just 41 years old, Kobe has an estimated fortune of $600 million and a thriving post-NBA career.

Kobe earned hundreds of millions through endorsements and deals from Nike, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz and Hublot, earning $25-30 million a year from these deals alone.

He put this income into many different businesses such as BodyArmor sports drinks and startups such as Art of Sport and HouseCanary. He also has a $100 million venture capital fund with partners like Jeff Stibel, Steph Curry, and Peyton Manning.

Bryant is also a young adult book publisher and the first pro athlete to win an Academy Award in 2018 for his animated short film “Dear Basketball.” However, that was not his only stream of income, and the same is true today because even though the man is no longer here, his name is still big business for investors.

In July, 2K Games made a move that garnered much praise. They debuted their new cover for the 25th anniversary edition of their popular NBA video game franchise, and it’s none other than Kobe Bryant. Basically, this means that the company has to pay Kobe Bryant’s estate to use his face.
