President Biden celebrates son Hunter’s 54th birthday at LA hotspot with big hug

President Biden celebrated Hunter Biden’s birthday in hot Los Angeles Sunday as the scandal-plagued eldest son faces multiple gun and tax fraud charges.

The Bidens were photographed hugging outside The Ivy, a luxury Beverly Hills restaurant popular with Hollywood stars, where they dined for Hunter’s 54th birthday.

They were joined by Hunter’s 3-year-old son Beau Biden who held his father’s hand as the grandfather bent down to kiss his youngest son.

The president has stood by his son even as federal charges tainted his campaign.

Hunter Biden is awaiting trial for a felony firearms case in Delaware and also faces nine tax fraud-related charges in Southern California.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Hunter’s attorney is trying to get a federal judge in the gun case to drop the charges against him in a motion filed Tuesday. They argued for dismissal based on four grounds, including that the charges were politically motivated, according to the filing.

The motion was filed after Special Counsel David Weiss on Jan. 16 denied Hunter’s first attempt to convince District Judge Maryellen Noreika to drop the case — which stemmed from when he bought a Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver while addicted to crack cocaine and lying about his drug use.

The first son was initially expected to receive blanket immunity under a plea deal he reached with federal prosecutors, but that deal fell through in a Delaware courtroom last July.

In December, Hunter found himself in deeper hot water when he was charged with nine counts – including three felonies – for allegedly evading more than $1 million in taxes over four years while living a hard and “luxurious” life.

Hunter is expected to go to trial for two separate cases. He faces up to 25 years in prison on the weapons charge and 17 years on the tax fraud charge.
