The nominations for the 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards have finally been announced. However, one notable omission from the nomination list is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s hit Netflix documentary series, “Harry & Meghan.”

The show was widely successful when it premiered in December 2022 and garnered an estimated 81.6 million viewing hours. Despite its success, the documentary failed to win any Emmy awards, which according to royal expert Ingrid Seward, was a huge disappointment for the couple.

Seward, current editor-in-chief Honourable magazine, speaking to Mirror Emmy snub question. He claimed Harry and Meghan were “devastated” about the humiliation but would not “show it” to the world. He also claimed that the documentary’s viewership was clearly not “good enough for an Emmy nomination.”

Seward also discussed the viral documentary itself and said Harry and Meghan talk about the entire British royal family like “they’re the enemy.” He described the series as a way for the couple to share “an intimate look at the ‘hardships’ they face in their honey-colored, rose-colored world.”

The royal expert went on to claim that Harry and Meghan will try to make the situation “positive” despite their annoyance at not being nominated. The “Queen’s Speech” author then shared some advice for couples amid “bad luck in their work lives.”

He said, “Ironically, as long as they focus on delivering personal items instead of more serious work, people will be interested. They’ve built a gilded cage of hope around them that’s hard to escape.”

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Lose Major Deals

Harry and Meghan’s loss at the Emmys is just one of several disappointments they have faced recently. The former royal recently confirmed the end of their $20 million deal with streaming giant Spotify.

Markle hosted the first season of her viral podcast “Archetypes” with Spotify and had guests such as Tyler Perry, Mariah Carey, Serena Williams and Issa Rae. However, the podcast was not renewed for Season 2 with the streaming platform, which is a huge blow. Thankfully, the pair still have their $100 million deal with Netflix, which allows them to create a variety of shows and content.

Two other Royal experts have also recently spoken out about the couple’s entertainment projects. Angela Levin and Richard Fitzwilliams spoke to him Sun and claimed that Harry and Meghan’s value in the industry “isn’t as high as it used to be.”

Fitzwilliams defended the former royal and said their Spotify contract ending was a “shocking failure.” He said, “The idea is that several series will be produced. Since there is only one, there is no doubt that the contract can be considered a failure. It is clear that this relationship is not mutually beneficial.”

Prince Harry Reportedly Bored With Hollywood

According to a recent report by Daily Mail, Harry quickly got bored with Hollywood and the entertainment industry. Alison Boshoff wrote about his time in the industry coming to an end soon and said Harry was “clearly ill-suited” for the show business life.

She stated, “The big question is how long before Harry turns his back on the show business life, which he clearly doesn’t fit in and seems uncomfortable with? The truth is, Harry never really wanted to be a podcaster or a TV executive. He didn’t want to be Meghan’s salt and pepper .”

The reports have been given weight by Harry’s recent actions in charity and campaigning, which he did before he left Britain. The Duke is reportedly working on a solo documentary on several African communities, similar to the work his mother, the late Princess Diana, was involved in.
