Season Six of “The Crown” will follow the royal family’s experiences and various tragedies from 1997 to 2005. One such crisis was Harry’s costume party scandal, where he wore a World War II German officer’s uniform. He also has a complete hat and swastika wrap.

The consequence of the costume was accusations of antisemitism and insensitivity on the part of the young Prince. Harry immediately issued a statement apologizing for the costume at the time. It read, “I deeply apologize if I have caused any offense or embarrassment to anyone. It was the wrong choice of clothing, and I apologize.”

Even years after the incident, Harry still shared his shame about wearing the costume. During the “Harry & Meghan” documentary, the Duke said it was “one of the biggest mistakes of my life.” He added, “I felt very embarrassed after that. All I want to do is fix it.”

Harry also revealed in the documents that after the scandal, he spoke to London’s Chief Rabbi and Holocaust survivors. He said, “I can ignore it and probably make the same mistake over and over again in my life. But I learned from it.”

Another important event that will be recreated in the sixth season is the tragic death of Princess Diana. The princess, who died in a car accident in Paris in August 1997, was played by Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki.

Suzanne Mackie, executive producer of “The Crown,” was present at the Edinburgh film festival. He said they filmed the car crash scene carefully, thoughtfully, and with “tremendous sensitivity.”

Mackie said, per NYP, “The show might be big and loud, but we’re not. We are thoughtful people and we are sensitive people. There were very careful and long conversations about how we were going to do it. The audience will judge it in the end, but I think it has been recreated carefully and meticulously.”

Mackie also praised Debicki for her portrayal of Princess Diana in season six. He said, “Elizabeth Debicki is an incredible actress, and she was very thoughtful and considerate. She loved Diana. There was a huge amount of respect from all of us — I hope that shows.”
