The movie is currently filming and fans are stealing pictures of actress Marisa Abela as Winehouse and they are not impressed. Twitter account @mediumsizemeech shared one of the fans’ photos and captioned it, “I need him arrested ASAP.”
The photo shows Abela transformed into Amy with her signature beehive and ballet flats. The only problem is, she looks a mess, and it’s not Amy who’s a mess but a mess, a mess. The look they recreated is quite different and Abela seems to be struggling to transform into Amy.
Fans had a lot of opinions about it and emphasized those opinions on Twitter.

Whatever happened with the new movie rubbed fans the wrong way and they had all kinds of questions. “This can’t be what my brain is telling me, it can’t be” revealed one fan.
“THIS is a crime against humanity. PRISON!” write another. Some followers do not know who Abela is. “Who is that?”

Many fans felt the appearance and the film in general was disrespectful. “I know they don’t play in Amy’s face like this.” Another had the same reaction, “I know this isn’t an attempt at Amy Winehouse?!?”
“This is a crime. Absolutely will not watch,” insisted another. Obviously, the appearance sparked fans of the “Back to Black” singer. Many were disappointed that even in death Winehouse could not reconcile. “Hollywood tortured Amy in life and in death. Very vile!”

The film will be called Back to black the title of Winehouse’s most popular album and the name of one of her most popular songs. It will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and written by Matt Greenhalgh.
The film will focus on Amy’s early years in London and her dramatic rise to fame. Taylor-Johnson wanted to focus specifically on Winehouse as a gifted writer and genius musician. According to the press release, the focus of the film is on Amy, “the passionate years living in early London and her intense journey to fame.”
It continued, “BACK TO BLACK will focus on Amy’s extraordinary genius, creativity and honesty that infuses everything she does. The journey that took her from the madness and color of 90s Camden High Street to global cult – and back again, BACK TO BLACK slips through the celebrity glasses to watch this journey from behind the mirror, to see what Amy sees, feel what she feels. “

As we mentioned, the singer is played by Marisa Abela and Ryan O’Doherty will play Chris Taylor as one of Amy’s partners in her early life who also allegedly inspired some of her music.
Before her death, Amy did an interview in 2004 with MTV, where she shared that her song “Stronger Than Me” was written about the couple’s relationship and breakup.
“I write [“Stronger Than Me”] for a guy I was with at the time, who I wrote a lot of songs about, and we’ve broken up a few times, and I really don’t know why we shouldn’t be together.”
He said the song just came to him one day. That’s Amy’s genius, can the movie capture that? Only time will tell so far, the look is throwing off fans.
