Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was among the guests hosted at the White House when South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife Kim Keon-hee visited the US, and she made sure to come with her plus one, her son, Maddox.
The visit is part of proceedings to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the US-ROK alliance and to finalize a new military alliance to counter North Korea’s growing nuclear threat.

“Yes, that’s true,” Yoon replied through a Korean translator. “When I went to school, it was one of my favorite songs.”
“We want to hear you sing it,” Biden said. “It’s been a while, but…” Yoon trailed off before singing the first part of the song as Biden handed him a guitar signed by McLean to perform.

When asked about Seoul, Maddox reportedly replied, “Great,” having attended Yonsei University. A source close to the actress told People’s Magazine, “Angelina has visited South Korea many times for her humanitarian and refugee support over the past two decades and as an artist. Angelina and Maddox are honored to attend this state dinner.”
Jolie is known for her extensive humanitarian work. He has been a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador since 2001. Since then he has been actively involved in raising awareness of the refugee crisis and fighting for their protection and rights.
