In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy winner spoke at length about the sitcom and about her career in general. When asked if there was anything she wished she had known before the show’s release, the actress gave a candid answer.
He reveals that he once did a pilot, which he hopes doesn’t blow up. In his words, “I feel very prepared for what’s to come with Abbott. There’s something about making a pilot, and everyone involved feels it. I’ve been in a pilot where I’m like, “Oh my God. If this happens, I don’t know what I will do. I will hate my life. I don’t want to move to Vancouver. This show is not that special. It would be my nightmare if the pilot left.”
However, that is not the case for “Abbott Elementary.” He expressed how different and confident he felt about the mockumentary-style series saying, “whereas, with Abbott, it’s like, ‘If this doesn’t happen, I don’t know what I have to give to the world because this is the best I can do.’ I can see us winning awards. I can see us becoming very popular.”
During the interview, the comedian was asked how she intends to deal with the pressure of “highlighting the institutional problems of the American education system” and also being a black woman in Hollywood.
“On the one hand, I’m very happy to represent something very positive to the public,” answered the writer. “It makes me feel humble and grateful. I try not to live in it too much because I think it’s a trap. I think perfection is a trap, and I think branding is a trap.”
He further explained that he is aware that people’s perspectives cannot be controlled, and he will not even try to control them. “I really just want to make a good TV show,” he said.

Brunson Receives Outpouring of Love From “Abbott Elementary” Kids.
Right after the show’s Emmy Awards, Brunson received so much love from the show’s cast.
According to The Blast, several kids from the comedy series sent the 32-year-old congratulations. He took to his Twitter to share the messages he received.
Fans may recall that the hit series won three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
As emotional as this act was, fans are in no rush to forget what happened when Brunson gave his acceptance speech on stage.
Before he took the stage, Jimmy Kimmel and Will Arnett performed a mini comedy skit. As he gave his speech, Kimmel lay at his feet, jokingly protesting his loss for the same category. Although the author doesn’t mind, the internet is confused by this.
They claim the late night show host is trying to steal the spotlight from Brunson. One user mentioned that “Quinta Brunson deserves better than giving her acceptance speech over Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘dead’ body.”
‘Abbott Elementary’ Producers Are Overjoyed About Emmy Nominations
