The “Mean Girls” actress reportedly asked the publication not to over-edit the photo, and that’s exactly what they did as her armpit hair is visible in the finished photo of her fully relaxing on a couch while wearing a form-fitting black dress.

She said, “With this shoot, I wore latex underwear. But I have two children. This is my body, and I think it’s very important to reflect that to the world.”

She added, “It’s okay to look your best, work hard and be healthy, but that’s different for everyone.”

The “Time Traveler’s Wife” actress explained that although she didn’t know why she made the decision in the first place, the effect paid off in her life because it helped “empower” her and allowed her to “take back control”.

“I think I always had a sense that it was going to be OK; whether it will be successful or not,” he said about his career. “Taking a break from acting helped me feel empowered. It helps me feel like I’m taking back control. And I think it allowed me to enter through a different door.”

At one point during her interview with the publication, McAdams revealed that she sometimes questioned her decision to quit acting, as she worried she was “throwing it all away” after turning down a big movie role.

According to the publication, the “Midnight in Paris” actress turned down roles in “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Casino Royale,” “Mission: Impossible III,” and “Iron Man,” to name a few.

He reflected on the missed opportunity, admitting that he sometimes wanted to make the film. Still, given their eventual success, he joked that the actor was perfect for the role.

McAdams also shared that it took her time to come to terms with what she did at the time, stating that she prioritized her mental health over the pain of fame at such a young age.

“I feel guilty for not taking advantage of the opportunity given because I know I am in a lucky place,” he admitted. “But I also know it doesn’t align with my personality and what I need to stay sane.”

He added, “There were some anxious moments wondering if I just threw it all away, and why did I do that? It took me years to understand what I was doing intuitively.”

Motherhood Helped Rachel McAdams With Her New Movie Role

The actor took the opportunity to promote the new movie he stars in titled “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret,” which is a film adaptation of Judy Blume’s classic novel of the same name.

McAdams talked about how having children helped her portray Margaret’s mother in an interview with a news source.

“She’s a great mother. He’s not perfect, but that makes him perfect,” he said People magazine her role as Barbara Simon. “As a mother, it’s not hard to find the chaos and privilege of watching children grow up and being their parents.”
