The “Bachelor” alum underwent breast reduction surgery five months ago. To celebrate the milestone, Recchia shared a sexy lingerie photo of herself, showing off her battle scars and proving how proud and strong she is as a woman.

“Happy five months post op!!!,” she captioned the sexy photo, which garnered attention from her Instagram followers.

“I admire you for having surgery and being open about it! ? I know how important it is to feel confident in yourself (I have horrible insecurities around my chest) and the first step can be so hard to take! :-),” wrote one fan.

Another stated, “Scarred for life!!!! I have poland syndrome (muscle loss in my chest, 2 corrective surgeries) so I have a large scar running down my left breast. thank you for normalizing it & making me feel more confident ?.”

After the procedure, Recchia opened up in an essay, telling the world why she decided to have the surgery.

“One day, I had a flat chest. Then, I woke up, and my breasts were bigger than everyone else’s. For me, the only word I can use to describe large breasts is…uncomfortable. From the beginning, I could tell my triple D wasn’t right for my frame or lifestyle, and it never got better,” she explains.

“I never wanted to show my chest. As a teenager, I didn’t want to be any more sexual than I already was. Then, when I got my degree in aviation and entered a male-dominated field, I felt I had to hide,” she continued. “Then there’s the physical pain of having big breasts on a small frame. I want to fly high as a cheerleader but struggle with back pain. Not to mention the inconvenience of wearing three sports bras when other people are wearing them.”

Recchia then opened up about her time on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” explaining how finding clothes was a huge challenge and made her uncomfortable. “My discomfort peaked when I became the star of a reality TV show and couldn’t find clothes to wear. Or I can, but it’s not the clothes I want to wear,” she said. “When you’re dating 32 guys at once, confidence is a must … and sometimes it’s hard to shine while wearing clothes that clearly aren’t me. Stylist Cary Fetman and I joked that I gave off a ‘mother of the bride’ during the rose ceremony in my high neck gown. He was great and patient, helping me feel the best I could.”

However, when the episode aired, Bachelor Nation commented on Recchia’s fashion choices, which hurt the “Bachelor” leads. “When the episode is replayed, and people make the same joke online, it doesn’t seem as funny anymore,” he said.
