Jeezy and Jeannie Mai’s tumultuous divorce has taken a new turn as the rapper has filed a motion to enforce their prenuptial agreement.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Jeezy wants the judge to include all prenuptial terms and provisions into the final divorce judgment.
The “Put On” rapper surprisingly filed for divorce from Mai in September after two years of marriage, and the two sides have been going back and forth over the terms of their separation.
Jeezy Wants Prenuptial Agreement Enforced In Jeannie Mai’s Divorce
In the filing, Jeezy explained that he and Mai signed their prenup on March 26, 2021, the day before they walked down the aisle. According to him, the prenuptial agreement meets the requirements for enforcement under the three-pronged test often called the Scherer test.

Typically, the three-pronged test asks strong questions to determine the validity of a prenup. It asks whether “the agreement was obtained by fraud, duress or mistake, or by misrepresentation or non-disclosure of material facts?” Or if the agreement is not proper?”
It also wondered “Have the facts and circumstances changed since the agreement was executed so as to make its enforcement unjust and unreasonable?”
In the document, Jeezy argued that the prenuptial agreement met the standards set forth above. “There is no question that both parties are able to read and understand the terms and provisions of the Agreement,” he said. “Both parties are public figures who are no strangers to contracts.”
He added, “Similarly, it cannot be disputed that the Prenuptial Agreement was not obtained through mistake, misrepresentation or non-disclosure of material facts. In particular, both parties were vigorously represented by independent counsel in the negotiations.”
Jeezy stated that he and “The Real” co-host lived together for about a year before getting married and “disclosed all financial information related to each other’s assets, liabilities and overall financial net worth” during that period.
As for Mai’s claim that the prenuptial agreement was improper, the “I Luv It” rapper argued that “while the net worth of the Petitioner may have exceeded the value of the Respondent at the time of the execution of the Agreement, the fact that the agreement can preserve the existing agreement. the difference in wealth between the parties does not make it improper.”

Usually, a prenuptial agreement is considered improper if it is “repugnant to good morals and conscience . . . where one party takes advantage of the fraud of the other [,] an agreement that no sane person who is not acting under delusion would make and no honest person would take advantage of.”
In essence, Jeezy argued that they both knew what they were doing and understood that they would keep their own money.
Jeannie Mai Denies Jeezy’s Claims About Their Daughter’s Gatekeeper
Jeezy’s filing to enforce the prenup comes after his estranged wife responded to his claims that she has been “guarding the door” of their 1-year-old daughter, Monaco, from him.
In the November filing, the rapper, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, claimed Mai was “interfering” with his ability to have a relationship with their daughter. He accused Mai of acting like a “gatekeeper” whenever he wanted to spend time with his daughter.
“[Mai] has acted as a gatekeeper when it comes to [Jeezy] exercise parenting time with [Monaco],” the document read, with Jeezy stating that his disorder “caused confusion and strain” in his relationship with his daughter.
The 46-year-old argued that he did not believe that Mai “acted maliciously” but wanted the court to “separate, structure and clearly define the parties’ temporary legal and physical custody rights and establish a parenting schedule consistent with the best interests of the Child.” “
In Mai’s response to her estranged husband’s claims, she stated that her intervention was only to keep Monaco safe. He declared that he had accepted Jeezy’s request to spend time with their daughter, even giving him extended periods of time with the little one over the Christmas holidays.
She stated that she wants Jeezy to be fully involved in their daughter’s life but worries about the little one’s safety due to her access to guns and some unsafe conditions.
“It is important to make it clear that Ms. Jenkins’ insistence on reasonable security measures being implemented, such as securing and locking up all firearms that have been unsafe in the past, and having regular and trained caregivers are not gatekeepers at all, but rather responsible efforts to prioritizing the well-being of their daughter,” the document reads.
Attorney Mai added, “This request is based on Ms. Jenkins’ genuine concern for the safety and security of the party’s daughter, especially when under the care of others and traveling across the country, and is a reasonable protective measure, not an attempt to restrict Mr. Jenkins access to their daughter.”
Divorce is in progress.
