MC Lyte has finally broken his silence on his divorce!
The iconic rapper went out of his way to advise fans on the importance of signing a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot. MC Lyte didn’t hesitate to address the elephant in the room when it came to spilling the tea about the details of her short-lived marriage to John Wyche.
The American rapper and Wyche began their romance after meeting on a dating app and shortly after they got engaged in May 2017. After three months of being engaged to each other, the now-divorced couple tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Taking to her Instagram page, MC Lyte shared with her 1.9 million followers how her divorce from her ex-husband, Wyche, hasn’t affected her badly. He also clarified some of the rumors circulating about his relationship with the successful entrepreneur.
MC Lyte began by stating categorically that his divorce from Wyche was not as chaotic as people thought. She posted a cryptic note on her page that read, “My divorce is not a battle – MC Lyte.”
Expressing her displeasure over the baseless rumours, she wrote in her caption, “I do not agree or support anything that aims to gain clicks and views by creating skewed messaging at the expense of the reputation of innocent parties.”
She revealed that the delay in signing the divorce papers was because her ex-husband was trying to improve his relationship with her, and not because he had any interest in her assets. He then gave some advice to his followers.
First of all, he stated, writing, “Divorce is not the same as failure. We have not failed; it just didn’t work out.” While praying for himself and his ex, he added, “I pray for his well-being as I pray for my own well-being and I pray for nothing but the best of God’s mercy.”
Go ahead, he writes, “If you have anything to protect a marriage, get a prenuptial agreement, so there’s no confusion if it ends.”
Educating his fans to invest properly and secure their assets, he revealed, “Our people are far behind the wealth gap; get a financial education and do what you can to protect what God has blessed you with.”

The childless couple were once at odds with each other. Citing no clear reason for the dissolution of their marriage in legal documents obtained, the “Ruffneck” rapper initially opened up about the entrepreneur after marrying him in August 2017.
In his words, “It’s incredible, so many people came out to support our union. We started with a strong foundation.” Unfortunately, it looks like things are not going according to plan for the couple.

The Brooklyn native meant business when she advised fans to sign a prenup before tying the knot.
Per The Blast, the veteran rapper, after citing irreconcilable differences as a reason to end her marriage, ensured that the prenup, which took place between her and her ex-husband, was upheld.
Not only is he entitled to keep his personal belongings, including his “term life insurance policy,” but he is also given the freedom to “keep his music catalog, and other creative property, including royalties related to his creative works.”
