A representative for the asset management corporation founded by Sherrese Clarke Soares confirmed the news to Variety. However, further details of the agreement were not disclosed. However, reports shared that the deal covers 50% of the “Air Force Ones” rapper’s music recording assets and is worth $50 million.
The catalog for sale is said to include some of his best-known songs, namely “Ride Wit Me” and the chart-topper “Dilemma” featuring Kelly Rowland and “Hot in Herre.” Nelly, represented by Steven Shapiro of Davis Shapiro Lewit & Grabel LLP, had something to say about the contract, expressing his delight at working with HarborView to immortalize his music.
“As artists, we put our heart and soul into every song, and there will come a time when you consider preserving that artistry,” he said in a statement.
“My music is my legacy that I want to live beyond me, continue to delight existing fans while reaching new generations and new audiences. I’m excited to partner with Harborview to create opportunities for my musical discovery decades from now.”
The company’s founder Soares added his opinion, noting that the hip-hop star’s musical legacy “has had a tremendous impact on generations of fans.” He also credits some of his hits like “Hot in Herre” and “Shake Ya Tailfeather” for defining “a musical era with an undeniable unique blend of hip-hop, R&B and country music.”
In conclusion, the investor stated, “We are very excited to add this influential piece to our portfolio and work with the team to continue to support the arts in our ecosystem.”

Throughout Nelly’s music career, she has featured several A-list collaborators, including Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, and Usher. What’s more, the three-time Grammy Award winner was one of the first rappers to delve into the country music scene with his eighth studio album and first fully country-inspired project, “Heartland.”
In addition to its catalog, HarbourView has acquired several other artists in recent years, including country musicians Brad Paisley and Lady A, along with rock group Incubus.
“Heartland,” which features male country musicians like Kane Brown, Breland, Tyler Hubbard and more, appears to be the first of many yet to come in Nelly’s country music exploration as she plans to release another album with only female country music stars.
As reported by Music Times, he spoke with “Rob + Holly” Audacy about the upcoming project, revealing that it will be the second part of “Heartland.” The “Dilemma” singer stated, “Heartland 2, the project I’m working on right now, that’s Country music women. That’s all my collaborations with Country music women.”
While he didn’t name anyone who might appear on the album, he promised more information would be shared in due time. He also credits the country music community for letting him “come to the picnic.”

The next day, Nelly and Ashanti performed together at a packed TAO Beach Dayclub, where they performed their 2008 hit, “Body On Me.”
During their performance, the 42-year-old singer was seen dancing on top of the father-of-four, fueling rumors of their rekindled romance.
