Rep. Gallagher seeing red over satanic Christmas tree in Wisconsin: ‘Absolutely crazy’

What the hell is going on in Wisconsin?

Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) expressed outrage over the Satanic Temple’s Christmas tree display at the annual celebration in his hometown of Green Bay.

“It is impossible to overstate how offensive this is to Christians. It would be, quite literally, the same thing as flying the Hamas flag in a synagogue,” Gallagher, 39, told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“It’s crazy we let this happen.”

The National Railroad Museum, which hosts the annual Christmas tree festival in Ashwaubenon, a suburb of Green Bay, allowed the display as one of 66 trees at the event.

The trees are set to be on display until Dec 31.

The Devil’s Temple tree was covered in a blood red light that looked like a devil’s eye with a snake-like figure at the bottom.

One ornament says “Hail Santa,” in an obvious mischievous nod to “Hail Satan.”

Although Christians celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ, the Satanic Temple largely satirizes religion.

The “worshippers” at the temple are non-theistic and the group supports separation of church and state, civil rights and egalitarianism.

Museum CEO Jacqueline Frank insisted that the group followed its guidelines of not advocating violence and emphasized that her museum had fostered diversity.

“There is no hesitation. We are not a religious organization. We’re focused on the train,” Frank said, according to the Green Bay Press Gazette.

“And honestly, Christmas trees are used by so many different secular and religious organizations. All we did was install decorations in the room.”

Gallagher, a father of two who chairs the House China Committee, ripped the museum’s response as “inadequate.”

He explained how the museum usually holds fun screenings of the movie “Polar Express” flanked by trains in a “cool” experience for children.

“I will not take my children there now. I don’t want them to be surrounded by Satan trees,” he said.

“Conservatives are often accused of waging a culture war or focusing or focusing on cultural issues, but here is a perfect example of how that’s not what’s happening.”

Gallagher also opined about a lab in Reedly, California that was found to have secret ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

“Based on our investigation, [the CCP] didn’t know it existed until local officials found it,” Gallagher said. “We need to do a better job of defending our homeland from potential attacks involving dangerous pathogens.”

Wisconsin representatives continue to sound the alarm about the risks of similar labs operating across the country.

“The honest answer is, we don’t know,” Gallagher replied when asked how many other such labs operate in the US.

“What concerns me in doing this investigation … is that if the FBI director or the president turned to the FBI director and said, ‘hey, we’ve got to think about how many we have in the United States,’ they wouldn’t even know where to start ,” he said.
