Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) was ripped for displaying a Palestinian flag outside her Capitol office even after the slaughter of innocent Israelis by Hamas terrorists — leading fellow lawmakers to formally push for “an end to this stupidity.”
The outspoken “Squad” member, who is of Palestinian descent, went viral late Monday when a photo of the flag shared by a Washington Examiner reporter has been viewed more than 2 million times.
GOP Rep. Max Miller of Ohio was among those who responded — sharing an image showing him introducing an amendment that would ban foreign flags from Congress.
“The Palestinian flag should have no place here,” Miller wrote on Twitter.
Instead, “the halls of Congress belong to America” and “should be reserved for the flag that embodies our great nation,” he wrote on X, the new name for Twitter.
“That’s why I’m sponsoring an amendment to the provision to end this stupidity,” he said in response to a picture of Tlaib’s door decorated with flags.

On Sunday, Tlaib slammed Israel’s “occupation” policy, saying he grieved for those killed as violence gripped the region following Hamas’ unprecedented incursion into the Jewish state from Gaza.
The progressive lawmaker issued a statement denouncing Israel as an “apartheid” state after several members of his fellow “Squad” sparked controversy for calling for a ceasefire in the Middle East.
“I mourn the loss of Palestinian and Israeli lives yesterday, today, and every day. I am as determined as ever to fight for a just future where everyone can live in peace, without fear and with true freedom, equal rights, and human dignity,” said Tlaib.

“That path to the future must include lifting sanctions, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that created the stifling, inhumane conditions that can lead to resistance,” he added.
Tlaib did not condemn Hamas, which launched sneak attacks that killed at least 900 Israelis, mostly civilians, and wounded another 2,500, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

In January, Tlaib posted a photo of himself next to the flag on social media while slamming the Israeli government.
“Palestinians may have been banned from flying their flag under the apartheid government, but we can still do it proudly in my office,” he wrote.
“I am proud to be a Palestinian American and I want the Palestinian people to know that not all Americans support apartheid. No one can erase our existence.”

At least 704 people were killed in the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli counterattacks, including 140 children, and more than 3,720 others were injured, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
