‘RHOBH’ Taylor Armstrong Puts A Festive Twist On Infamous Cat Meme!

Taylor Armstrong leans into meme culture!

“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alumna and current cast member of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” has a recognizable face beyond Bravo lovers and viewers of the ‘Housewives’ franchise!

Anyone who has spent the slightest amount of time on the internet in recent years would probably agree that it’s almost impossible to avoid Armstrong’s face!

Her likeness has been immortalized in a “cat meme” in which a sobbing Armstrong angrily yells at various co-stars in the midst of a feud with Camille Grammer-Meyer. ‘RHOBH’ star Kyle Richards stood behind Armstrong in both the clip and the meme, in an attempt to cheer him up.

Armstrong is certainly aware of the legacy of being a viral meme, and he’s really embracing it by putting his own spin on it!

Before we look at Armstrong’s hilarious and season-appropriate tribute to the ‘cat meme,’ let’s take a look at the history, shall we?

Armstrong Explains the Seriously Heartbreaking Situation Behind the Viral Cat Meme

Earlier this year, Armstrong sat down with Buzzfeed to film an interview for the outlet’s “I Accidentally Became A Meme” series.

Armstrong’s photo immortalized on a cat may be funny, but the real story behind Armstrong’s rage in the original ‘RHOBH’ clip from season two has a darker connotation.

Armstrong explained how an important aspect of being a ‘housewife’ involves a lot of on-screen fights, and many of those escalating fights can inspire a lot of high-pressure situations.

“Of course there’s pressure that comes with it because you’re in a situation where there’s an argument and things can get pretty tense,” Armstrong told the outlet. “We’d fight during the day or fight at the party at the fair, and then I’d come home, and there’d be a fight in my house.”

Earlier in the clip, Armstrong explained that his mother had been a victim of domestic violence while Armstrong was growing up. She would go on to explain that her former marriage to the late Russell Armstrong was abusive.

“When I was filming ‘Beverly Hills,’ I was in an abusive marriage. My husband abused me verbally and physically for almost six years,” explained Armstrong. She will also share her husband’s fear of finding out if he ever tells any of his castmates what goes on behind the scenes.

“I’m afraid word will get back to my husband if I share my story with any of the women on ‘Beverly Hills’ or really any of my other friends for that matter,” she continued to Buzzfeed.

Armstrong explained how Grammer had revealed Armstrong’s personal pain to another woman. Armstrong was “shocked” by Grammer’s actions.

“I remember seeing our producer across the street and just staring at him thinking, ‘something about my life is going to change because this is going to end up on television, and I have an abuser that’s really out of control, and I don’t I don’t know if that’s means he will kill me, will we divorce? Will this make him behave? Will he eventually go to anger management? Which of these myriad options will not happen? I was terrified.”

Armstrong also explained how he believed no one in his circle understood how dangerous his off-screen life was at the time; he was scared the night the famous photo was taken at a party in Malibu.

“I really wanted to get my point across,” Armstrong explained of the famous confrontation scene. “That you don’t understand what you have done to me. You have forgotten something that cannot be taken back, and the consequences for me and my son could be dire. If something happens to me, it will destroy my daughter’s life.”

Long story short, Armstrong sent the meme to Richards as soon as it started going viral in 2019. Richards allegedly replied that he “didn’t get” the meme!

“Everybody said, ‘why are you yelling at that cat?’ I don’t know who the cat is!” Armstrong continued, “So first of all I wouldn’t yell at an animal for a start, but I sure as hell wouldn’t yell at this fluffy little white cat!”
