‘RHOSLC’ Star Heather Gay Insists Her Black Eye Came From Jen Shah

The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” drama continues with the unveiling of unseen footage that allegedly confirms Jen Shah gave Heather Gay a black eye.

The drama began when the reality TV star labeled her former co-star as the cause of the injury she started in 2022. Two years later, Bravo fans got all the nitty-gritty details about the incident, including why Gay lied about Shah’s alleged physical assault.

Heather Gay Gives An Emotional Recollection Of Her Black Eye Incident With Jen Shah

The third installment of the “RHOSLC” reunion show saw Gay open up about his issues with Shah. The program’s moderator, Andy Cohen, gave him space to elaborate on how he got the famous spotlight from his former co-stars.

“Heather, you shocked the world when you claimed Jen gave you a black eye. Tell us how it happened,” said Cohen, to whom Gay admitted the details of the incident were hazy, but that it happened after a night of partying on the actor’s trip to San Diego.

“Honestly, it was a lot to drink, and the next day, I woke up with a black eye; I know I got it from Jen,” Gay recalled, noting he didn’t know how the exposure happened but believed his former friend was responsible. In his words:

“I don’t know how, but I know I got it from Jen. He was the first person I messaged; he came into the room, he said, ‘Did I give you that?’ I said, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll cover.'”

When asked why he chose to “protect” Shah’s alleged abuse, Gay emotionally admitted to being afraid of the incarcerated entertainer. “I do not know. I’m afraid of him, I guess,” she wailed. “I have been protecting him for three years. I will not stop with a black eye.”

“I was there, and I was too scared to say anything. I’m afraid to say it; I’m still afraid to say it at the meeting. I’m still afraid to say it in Bermuda,” he added, referring to the moment he shared his narrative about the black eye incident.

Gay explained he addressed Shah’s alleged crimes in Bermuda because he felt betrayed by someone he considered a friend. Her revelation comes after fellow actress Monica Garcia was revealed as one of the culprits behind the “RHOSLC” troll account.

Heather Gay Claims Unseen Footage Backs Up Her Story About Jen Shah

The black eye drama continues with the “RHOSLC” production team seemingly supporting Gay’s narrative with unseen footage from the morning he woke up with the injury.

A disclaimer appeared on screen, warning viewers that the audio was “unintelligible” and that both sides initially claimed they were “discussing different topics” in the video. “Heather now claims this recording shows them discussing black eyes,” the note said.

According to Gay’s recollection, the video captured Shah arriving in his room and sitting on the sofa. As Bravo points out, the audio isn’t very clear, but the alleged victim claims his former friend said: “I did that to you; I can’t believe I did that to you,” as he replied: “Don’t worry. I got you.”

Following the clip, Gay apologized to his fellow cast members, Bravo, and fans for lying about his injury. “I don’t know how to steer myself. It is a terrible situation,” he lamented. “I was scared, and I did what I always do, I brushed it off with a joke. It was in poor taste; it was terrible.”

Jen Shah Strongly Denies Black Eye Allegations

A few weeks before Gay’s emotional recollection of her black eye, Shah responded to her claims in a fiery statement on her Instagram Story. He defended himself from prison, where he is currently incarcerated on fraud charges.

Shah said there was no evidence to support Gay’s claims and insisted that if the incident had happened, it would have been caught on camera. He also accused the “RHOSLC” showrunner of using him for leverage, writing:

“BRAVO, if I punch Heather in the eye, you’ll have the footage to prove it. Obviously the show couldn’t survive without me since I grew up in the beginning, middle and end of season 4.”

The 50-year-old’s argument continued with a jab at Andy Cohen, who he claimed was bitter about his refusal to do interviews. He said the TV host would never have contacted him if he was the cause behind Gay’s black eye.

“Andy is still hurt because I rejected his 1:1 interview. Why would you sit with someone who ‘gives’ a cast member a black eye? Next story,” Shah concluded his statement.
