Ricardo will come from the Garden State wild cattle run.
The Texas Longhorn that escaped from a slaughterhouse and ran across railroad tracks in Newark Thursday was filmed being slowly woken from sedation at its new home, Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue in Wantage, New Jersey.
“Hello, Ricardo. You look better than ever, man,” Skylands founder Mike Stura told the confused cow, named after one of the cops who helped bring it to safety.
“Do you know who I am? I’m your new father!” Stura told him.
“You’re good, man. You are safe now. No one will mess with you anymore.
“Look how handsome you are! You’re just worried about getting better,” he said, telling the chestnut driver to “drink a lot of water” and calling him a “good boy.”
Ricardo was seen resting on a bed of straw with a yellow numbered tag hanging from his ear and a few strands of straw adorning his forehead.

Officers with the Newark Police Emergency Services Unit and the Port Authority Police Department eventually tackled the escapee and confined him to a fenced lot near Newark Liberty International Airport, before he was transferred to an animal shelter in Wantage — a 232-acre farm that houses about 450 animals.
Ricardo is a roughly 1.5-year-old Texas longhorn steer — meaning a castrated bull — weighing between 750 and 800 pounds, Stura told The Post.
Ricardo is expected to be quarantined from other animals for a few days as a precaution, before Stura decides which herd of bulls and cows he will join.
“Hopefully he will do well and live a long life here,” he said.
The bull’s rough day quickly went viral Thursday — with the New York Red Bulls joking that he might just be looking for their Newark soccer stadium.
“Please go home,” the club joked about the bull. After he was caught, the club said: “What a run.”
