Richard Lewis’ Death Certificate: Official Cause Of Death Revealed

Comedian Richard Lewis, known for his role as an actor in the comedy show, “Bendung Semangat Anda,” the official cause of death has been released.

The official cause of death of the late Hollywood star was finally confirmed according to the death certificate obtained by Explosion.

Lewis’ death certificate revealed that the actor died on February 27, 2024, at 9:22 p.m., from “Cardiopulmonary Arrest.” This is the cessation of adequate cardiac and respiratory function and results in irreversible death. Most often, this condition is found in patients with coronary artery disease.

The document also listed Lewis’ second cause of death as “Parkinson’s Disease,” a condition the comedian had been battling for years.

The beloved actor died at his home in Los Angeles and is being buried at the “Temple of Aaron Cemetery” in Roseville, Minnesota.

After news of his death broke, a representative for Lewis confirmed it in a heartbreaking statement that read: “Comedian/Actor Richard Lewis passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles last night after suffering a heart attack. His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship and support and asks for privacy at this time.”

An HBO spokesperson also responded to Lewis’ shocking death: “We are deeply saddened to learn that Richard Lewis has passed away. His comedic brilliance, intelligence and talent are unmatched. Richard will always be a valued member of the HBO and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ family, our condolences go out to his family, friends and all fans who can count on Richard to brighten their days with laughter.”

Lewis has had an amazing career and has appeared in some top TV shows and movies. Some of his most popular TV credits include the 1980s sitcom, “Anything but Love” with actor Jamie Lee Curtis and the 1993 comedy show, “Daddy Dearest.”

For the big screen, Lewis appeared in popular films such as, “Robin Hood: Men in Tights,” in which he played Prince John and the drama film “Leaving Las Vegas,” in which he starred alongside Nicolas Cage.

After his death, several stars in the industry paid tribute to the iconic comedian and actor for his talent and distinguished career.

His friend and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-star Larry David shared a tribute that read: “Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for the rest of my life, he’s been like a little brother to me. He has that rare combination of being the funniest and also the sweetest person. But today he made me cry and for that, I will never forgive him.”

Lewis’ wife on the show, Cheryl Hines, also spoke about his death, branding the actor a “true gift.”

Hines said, per Many people, “When I was young, I really liked Richard Lewis. He is the funniest person on stage and the most handsome comedian. Then when I was cast in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ I got to work with him and it was a dream come true.”

He added, “Over the years I have learned who Richard really is and the gifts he gives. Yes, he’s the comedian I’m in love with, but he’s also one of the most loving people I know. He will take time to tell his loved ones what they mean to him – especially in recent years. In between takes on ‘Curb’, he would tell me how special I was to him and how much he loved me.
