‘RIP Cartoon Network’ Sends Twitter Into A Downward Spiral!

It’s a tragic day for millennials around the world.

Cartoon Network got the ax. The animated series that brought such brilliant cartoons as “The Power Puff Girls,” “Johnny Bravo,” “Courage the Cowardly Dog,” “Ed, Edd and Eddy,” and many others were sentenced to death.

It has been announced that the parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, effectively killed Cartoon Network.

The person to blame for the blasphemous decision is CEO David Zaslav.

Warner Bros. Discovery recently underwent a massive corporate restructuring and because of this, Cartoon Network got the boot. It is expected that CN will turn into a “shadow of its former self,” according to The Verge.

WBD laid off 82 employees and eliminated 43 open positions from its Television division earlier this week.

The company plans to merge Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios; however, it may be a bigger pill to swallow than what Warner Bros. Television CEO Channing Dungey previously stated in an internal company-wide memo.

Memo Per Dungey, Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, Warner Bros. Animation, and Cartoon Network Studios will all continue to exist and be run by Sam Register as part of the company’s “new streamlined structure.”

Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios will now share “key development and production teams.”

This does not favor CN.

Per The Vergethe merger of WBA and CNS is just another cost-saving measure that really won’t have a successful impact on the company’s ability to produce content.

“#RIPCotoonNetwork started trending on Twitter on Thursday, October 13.

Many on the platform shared tweets of despair, sadness and absolute shock.

“RIP Cartoon Network of our childhood will forever appreciate you,” tweeted one.

“I haven’t watched CN since I was a kid but damn… this still hurts. RIP Cartoon Network,” shared another.

Cartoon Network Fans Are On Sides

This person shared the frustration of the animators by sharing the following tweet, “at this point I’m just … what a year for animators huh.”

“RIP Cartoon Network 🥺🥺 Thank you for all the memories and making our 90s childhoods amazing,” one millennial shared the sadness.

Cartoon Network Just Celebrated Its 30th Birthday

In August, Cartoon Network celebrated its 30th birthday.

“Here’s to 3️⃣0️⃣ years of iconic shows, unforgettable characters and the best fans in the world – YOU! 🥳⬛️⬜️ We’re excited to celebrate together, so comment with what you want to see for our big anniversary this year!” the post was captioned.

Network fans. Once again share all that nostalgia.

“Happy 30th! I’ve been a fan of the cartoon network since I was a kid!❤️,” commented one fan.

“I grew up on this,” another shared.

“Happy 30 years @cartoonnetwork❤️ want to see some old shows,” shared this fan.

DITTO!

One fan shared their true feelings about the network cartoon over the past decade, “30 YEARS BUT… THE LAST 10 YEARS HAVE BEEN THE WORST TO BE HONEST.”

Well… I guess that makes sense why the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery felt the need to “RIP Cartoon Network.”
