Carl Weathers Makes Final Appearance In Super Bowl Ad
Before his heartbreaking death, Weathers had filmed a set of commercials to appear in the upcoming Super Bowl, which will air on February 11. The late actor has been associated with online sports betting company FanDuel and its Super Bowl work for years.
According to reports, after former NFL player Rob Gronkowski makes a field goal to start the Super Bowl, FanDuel will air a follow-up ad during the game itself. Not sure what the ad means, but Weathers’ unfortunate passing has made FanDuel want to approach its ad with caution.
FanDuel executive vice president of marketing Andrew Sneyd confirmed that the “Rocky” actor will still appear in the ad, thanks to his family’s blessing. “The family is very supportive that they still want to see Carl in work,” Sneyd said.
However, there will be some changes to the ad according to Sneyd. “We’ve built a master. One is an edit if he kicks and we have an edit if he misses. The content we had in the master wasn’t suitable for us to do anymore,” Sneyd said of the upcoming ad. “Since the news of Carl’s death came , we’ve been working with editors to help us get back to something that makes sense.”

She added, “We watched the edit with tears in our eyes. We really enjoyed the short time we had to work with him. He’s a great guy and he’s really an inspiration and has a positive outlook on the world. We want to make sure we try to find this moment.” with due respect.”
