“It’s been pretty unusual and exciting,” Dawson said of their shared history. “We were teenagers, and then I saw him right after that go into this universe. I never thought that I would have that part, other than just being a fan of his, and being so proud of him.”
However, he would not confirm whether or not his old classmate will appear in the new “Star Wars” series. “It’s really great that at this moment, I’m with him, and he’s able to come back [in 2022’s Obi-Wan Kenobi] and also embraced by the Star Wars family in a way that I think is very appropriate,” he said. “It’s definitely one of those things that would be really cool if he was [in Ahsoka]but I am very grateful that we are in the same universe.”

Dawson certainly hinted that he had to undergo some pretty intense training for his role in a May 2023 interview with Entertainment Weekly on their Dagobah Dispatch podcast.
He said that the training was “pretty intense” and recalled how he had to practice wielding Ahsoka’s lightsaber for two hours a day, seven days a week. His training only continued when he started shooting his scenes. “And then you add when we’re actually filming and doing these different battles and having to keep studying them,” he added.
Ahsoka is also ambidextrous, which Dawson calls “just a lot to have.” He also hinted that the show jumps right into the action, describing that Ahsoka is “very fierce right from the start.” Dawson told the publication, “It’s never been a question of whether he’s capable. He meets every match head-on. There’s not an ounce of doubt from him, and that’s really different from someone who learned martial arts in their 40s who trying to protect their face.”
