Rumer Willis Talks About Being Sober For 7 Years

In her lengthy post on Instagram, Rumer talked about her sobriety journey and how she learned to love her body and be comfortable in her own skin.

She wrote, “Celebrating 7 years of sobriety, showing myself [I’m] not a weenie hehe, jumping into a cold river, loving myself more than I ever have, feeling more beautiful and comfortable in my skin than I ever have, laughing, crying, fighting, primal screaming, being taken over, meeting new friends , writing lullabies with my daughter’s father, sharing moments of wonder at the little creatures who chose us…”

[that] I think smarter, funnier, more confident, more attractive,” Rumer admitted during an interview with the American Addiction Center.

“And it’s a lie, it really is a lie. And it’s the illusion that somehow you’re a magical, sparkling version of yourself when you drink,” he added. After years of struggle, he decided to try “Sober January” in 2016 and since then he has been sober.
