Embattled British comic Russell Brand was questioned on Thursday by London police officers over allegations of sexual abuse dating back more than a decade.
Brand, 48, was criticized by investigators over three “not recent” sexual offenses, according to The Times of London, which published a joint investigation in September that accused Brand of raping, sexually assaulting and abusing three women and a 16-year-old girl. between 2006 and 2013.
“A man in his forties attended a police station in south London on Thursday,” a Scotland Yard spokesperson told the outlet.
“He was interviewed under caution by detectives in relation to three non-recent sexual offences. Inquiries continue.”
The Metropolitan Police has asked potential victims to come forward after the revelations were released, and police have heard from accusers in London and other parts of the UK who were not referred to in the bomb allegations, according to the report.
“We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been the victim of a sexual offence, no matter how long ago, to contact us,” Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy is reported to have said.

One of the new accusers told police she was sexually assaulted by the “Get Him to the Greek” star in central London in 2003.
Brand’s questioning comes a day after his former employer, the BBC, said it was investigating five complaints about his conduct between 2006 and 2008 when he worked as a radio host.

The actor has denied the reports and said he did not engage in non-consensual sex, claiming he was targeted in a “war on free speech.”
The Sunday Times of London, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches reported that a woman claimed the star raped her against the wall of her Los Angeles home in 2012, and provided a receipt from a rape crisis center the following day.
Text messages provided to the outlet show that Brand replied “so sorry” to her when he texted her, “When a girl [says] NO, it means no.”
The teenage accuser, whom Brand referred to as “the kid,” was reportedly assaulted during their “emotionally abusive and controlling” relationship, the article said. He was above the age of consent in the UK at the time.

Brand’s ex-girlfriend Jordan Martin has also claimed Brand attacked her in a hotel in Manchester after becoming angry that she had spoken to an ex-boyfriend.
