In an Instagram carousel sharing photos of the two together, the “House of Gucci” actress remembered her role in “Fools Rush In,” which she once called “my best movie” in an Instagram Story posted before her death.
“Two days ago, I woke up to the shocking news that Matthew Perry is no longer with us. It took me a few days to process this deep sadness,” he wrote in the caption. “There is a special bond that happens when you share a dream with someone, and together you work towards them. I was so touched last year when Matthew shared on his Instagram story how much he loved ‘Fools Rush In,’ and how he thought the movie we did together might be his best movie yet.”
“Over the years, he and I have found ourselves looking back on meaningful times in our lives with deep nostalgia and gratitude. My friend, you are gone too soon, but I will always cherish your stupidity, your tenacity, and your beautiful heart,” he concluded. “Goodbye, sweet Matthew, we will never forget you.”
Salma Hayek Is Not the Only One Who Pays Tribute to Matthew Perry
Lea Thompson joins Salma Hayek in paying tribute to the late actress. Not only did Lea make a guest appearance on “Friends” but Lea’s husband, Howie Deutch, actually directed Perry in the 2004 film “The Whole Ten Yards.”
“For years I’ve been in awe of #mathewperry,” Lea captioned an Instagram post that included two photos of Perry on set. “Before, when I worked with him when we were both on must-see TV He was kind, funny, and a perfect guy. Then my husband @howiedeutch did The Whole 10 Yards with him and Mathew even forgave him for #punching him by coming to our daughter’s bat mitzvah.”
“He is the best. We are so devastated that he left too soon. Howie said ‘Losing a special and talented man who brought joy, laughter and hope to so many people, including myself is heartbreaking,’” Lea concluded. “We send our love to his family at this tragic time.”

Perry’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” co-star and director Timothy Busfield also expressed their condolences on the actor’s passing. In a statement made to People magazine, Busfield said, “Matty Perry is a gem. I was fortunate and fortunate to act with him and also direct him at Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.” Busfield went on to say:

“Funny story, I was a recurring guest star so I basically had a room for the trailer, and every lunch break he would invite me to his trailer to play videos, laugh and chill. By the end of the series, I was in Matt’s trailer more than he was. Take and play videos and watch his directv. He is truly missed and his family, extended family, and ‘Friends’ are in my prayers. This is a difficult one for everyone. I miss you already. MP loves you, friend,” he concluded.
