Cheryl “Salt” James Shares Big News On Social Media Ahead Of Event
James, 56, shared the big news on his Instagram page a week ago explaining that he plans to celebrate the big moment “like there’s no tomorrow.” “Anyone who REALLY knows me, knows that I don’t usually celebrate myself almost ever. To be honest I have missed the moments when I should have been happy and excited because I was focusing on the wrong things and the wrong people…no more! This time I’m going all out, I’m gonna party like there’s no tomorrow!,” her caption began. “I have been blessed with a very long and successful career. We have received so much love and support from die-hard fans, family and friends. All these years later and still going strong with more in store!!!”
He ended his caption with a message for all their fans. “If you have a dream passion for something that you are really good at and that brings you joy, just do it. If you are afraid of shaking!! Don’t let people get in your head, get out of your own head and just keep going you never know what could happen…”
Each Group Member Talks About What This Means To Them Individually
The ceremony on Friday gave each of the three members of the group a chance to share what the experience meant to them. The event was the trio’s first public appearance together since Roper left the group in 2019. During the event, they put their differences aside to celebrate their legacy.
“Women everywhere are inspired, forever changed by this message of strength and independence. And what our message did for all of you, it did for me too. Thank you S and P for teaching me. Salt, Pep, life lessons,” said Roper, 51. “We’ve been through ups and downs. But I have to thank for the lesson. Because it’s not just music to me. It is our relationship. And that means everything to me. So whatever we have to do to fix it, let’s bring unity back to this. Let’s think and be iconic and be what the fans are.”

Denton, 55, said he was “honored” and reflected on his father’s death and how his words helped him decide to go to school in Queens, where he met his musical partner for the first time. “When he died, all I could think was, ‘Oh my god, I have to make my dad proud, be strong, do this,'” she said.
Denton also discussed how it paved the way for other women in the industry. “It’s question No. 1, will hip-hop survive. And I was like, ‘Yo, they love us all over the world.’ And look at that. Hip-hop has taken place for women,” he said. “We need to continue to empower each other as we do, lift each other up, pass the torch. And I’m telling you, this is our time too. And it shows you that Salt-N-Pepa got a stamp on Earth.”
