According to the divorce filing, the actress lists July 28, 2023, as the reason for the separation and asks for spousal support and attorney fees. If that wasn’t enough, it looks like she’s also in the running for divorce.
According to court documents, the actor “has not determined the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and liabilities of each party.” It went on to say, “There are various items of community and semi-community assets and debts, the nature and full extent of which are unknown [Sam] at this time.”
On Wednesday night, a source told Page Six that the 29-year-old actress was reportedly “trying to negotiate concessions outside of her prenup and threatening to reveal very embarrassing information about Britney unless she was paid.” However, on Thursday night, the actor’s representative denied the allegations.

A representative for the actor, Brandon Cohen, told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday night that he had no intention of challenging the prenup. “There have been numerous allegations that Sam challenged the prenup and threatened to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” his rep told THR. “However, all these allegations are false, as no negative intentions have ever been directed at him and will never happen. Sam has always and will always support him.”
The statement followed a brief message Sam shared on his Instagram Stories on Thursday evening. “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best,” he wrote. “Sh*t happened. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I would just ask everyone including the media to be nice and considerate.”

On Wednesday night, Britney took to Instagram but did not comment on the divorce filing. Instead, he revealed that he plans to buy two horses that he plans to name Sophie and Roar.

Later on Thursday night, the attorney for Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline, Mark Vincent Kaplan, revealed that the challenge to the prenup could affect K-Fed’s child support payments. Britney and Kevin were married from 2004 to 2007 and share two teenage boys: Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16.
“If she wants to modify the child support that she pays Kevin because she no longer has the same level of ability to pay that she did before her divorce from Sam, then that will have to be heard in child support court,” Mark Vincent Kaplan told Page Six on Thursday.

“She would be better off paying it off and focusing her energy on Asghari’s litigation,” Kaplan added, noting that it might be better for Britney to try to fund the legal battle. “There’s not much left by the time Britney is going to pay child support. Less than two years. If he continues to pay child support regardless of whatever settlement he makes with Sam, there’s no reason to go and challenge him.”
Earlier in the day, Kevin Federline reportedly prayed for his ex-wife in the midst of her divorce.
