Actor Sam Asghari opened up about one of the reasons why he decided to break up with pop star Britney Spears.
The former personal trainer began dating the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer on the set of the “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. They got engaged in September 2021, two months before the controversial 13-year conservatorship came out. ended, and tied the knot in June 2022.
In August 2023, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actress filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. Despite accusations of infidelity and even domestic violence, neither party has ever given a reason behind the split. However, the 29-year-old actor recently hinted that there was nothing dramatic behind the split.

Since splitting in August, the two have focused on their own separate projects. In October 2023, the “Crossroads” actress released her memoir “The Woman In Me.” The former personal trainer has been working on her acting career and has even lost forty pounds after filing for divorce.
“It is a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people split up and people move on,” Sam told People magazine in March 2023, months after filing for divorce.
“I always hate people who leave certain relationships — and at some point they tell each other that they love each other and they sit down and eat food. [together] — so I never understand when people break up [and] they talk bad about each other,” he continued. “That’s something I’ll never do because I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences and a great life, and that will always be a part of my life, a chapter in my life.”

On Sunday, the aspiring actor will turn 30. As she turns another year older, Sam emphasized her commitment to a “healthy lifestyle” in her chat with People magazine.
“I used to think that 30-year-olds were so old when I was in high school. But everyone I talk to, the older they get, the more they can enjoy life because with age comes wisdom and experience,” he explained. “And I think experiences in life are wonderful, so that’s something I’m really excited to fulfill.”
He goes on to say that the only woman in his life at the moment is his dog, Porsha. He originally gave the Doberman puppy to Britney as an engagement gift in 2021. However, Britney allowed him to keep the dog when they settled a custody agreement regarding their pets last year. However, the two are yet to finalize their divorce.
“I always have the most positive thoughts about life. My experiences in life have shaped me into the man I am today. I will continue to grow. I come from a place where we celebrate our past,” continued Sam. “I look back fondly. My past was a blessing and a beauty.”

In December 2023, Sam revealed that he had lost between 35 and 40 pounds. Speaking to Page Six, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actress emphasized that her “little transformation” wasn’t meant to be a “revenge body” after her breakup.
“Sometimes when you’re in a situation where you can’t focus on yourself, it can be hard for you to notice [your body changes] but other people do,” she explained, noting that her new physique isn’t “necessarily a revenge body, but a kind of self-love thing.”
“Self-love is something that everyone should practice,” he continued, noting that he once weighed about three hundred pounds after he was kicked from his college football team.
He also talked about his relationship status, once again joking that the only woman in his life is his dog. She went on to say that she would like to adopt another dog “in the near future.”
“I definitely won’t be joining any dating apps anytime soon,” Sam said, adding, “That’s for sure.”
As for Britney Spears, she recently declared she is single on Instagram despite rumors that she is still dating her ex-housekeeper, who was reportedly fired due to his criminal past.
