The real-life Grinch was caught on camera shamelessly grabbing presents from under the Christmas tree inside a California family home on Monday.
The burglar was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt when he was caught on the security camera of the family’s Huntington Beach home — earning him the nickname “Cheating Santa” from the family’s children, KTLA reported.
The brazen robbery was carried out while the couple were at work and their children, aged 6 and 3, were both at school.
Footage shows the thief carrying what appears to be a hamper of clothes, which he fills with presents which are placed under the tree for the family’s children to open on Christmas morning.
The thief, seen in the footage with a beard and wearing a red shirt and light gray sweatpants, reportedly broke into the family home through a rear sliding door
In between filling hampers with gifts, thieves can be seen peering outside the front window to check if anyone is coming home.
More than a thousand dollars worth of property was taken from the home, the couple said.

“We can replace that thing but just for my kids to experience it and know what happened … it’s kind of sad for us,” said one homeowner.
