Savannah Chrisley Talks Navigating Dating And Responsibility For Her Siblings

Savannah Chrisley’s love life begins to blossom as she continues to adjust to being her siblings’ caretaker.

The reality television star’s life hasn’t been the same since her parents — Todd and Julie — were indicted for their roles in a bank and tax fraud scheme in August 2019. The couple, who were convicted last June, recently began their respective prison terms in Florida and Kentucky, leaving their eldest daughter to take care of the family, including their granddaughter Chloe and youngest son Grayson.

Being the eldest child is no easy task, especially when you come from a family as big as the Chrisleys. Although the unfortunate situation her parents faced has plagued her dating life, Savannah seems to be finding her way back.

The 25-year-old recently confirmed that she has found love again as she shed light on her new routine as a carer for her 16-year-old brother and ten-year-old niece.

“I’m dating someone,” she declared on Tuesday’s episode of the “Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe” podcast, adding that she currently wants to keep it a secret and in a “safe place” until she figures out where the relationship is headed.

Savannah is also more careful about how she handles her life because of her caregiving responsibilities. To that end, the “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” host has explained to her new flame that her brother and niece are a “package deal.” In his words:

“This is what you are facing. Do you know? There are two children; my parents are not in the greatest place in the world right now. You know everything, 110 percent transparency. If you’re in, you’re in. If you’re out, you’re out.”

The “Chrisley Knows Best” star seems to have a handle on handling the younger kids, a move that might help her if Chloe’s mom, Angela Johnson, comes knocking. You’ll recall that Johnson welcomed the ten-year-old with Savannah’s brother, Kyle, in 2012.

However, he lost custody of the baby girl in 2016 due to his struggles with bipolar disorder and drug addiction. This bump caused her baby mama to share custody with Todd for a while before she was arrested for falsifying details on Medicaid assistance documents.

According to The Blast, Johnson recently resurfaced and has made his desire to regain full access to his daughter known. Although he has yet to file the paperwork to become Chloe’s sole guardian, he revealed that he has been working with the legal team for years.

Besides, she claims, “I want him [Chloe] house. He deserves to be home. I am his biological mother.” As for Savannah having custody of the pre-teens, Johnson stated:

“I don’t think it’s right because, at the end of the day, I am his biological mother. I was removed from his life. I don’t shy away from it. I was pushed out of his life, and they wanted me to forget Chloe, and they wanted Chloe to forget me like I didn’t exist.”

Last month, The Blast reported that Savannah’s grandmother opened up about her struggles with life following Todd and Julie’s incarceration. While the property developer received 12 years in prison, his wife got seven, with an order that they serve an additional 16 months of probation after their release.

The older Chrisley, Nanny Faye, addressed her struggles with the couple’s long-term absence with her grandchildren during her latest “Unlocked” podcast episode. Minutes after the conversation began, Faye recalled Julie’s support during her battle with bladder cancer, revealing:

“There is no treatment [for my bladder cancer] where my precious daughter-in-law is not with me — never. Through it all, he was with me.”

The 79-year-old stressed that her daughter-in-law cares deeply about their family, adding, “When you need something, call Julie. He would call me three or four times every day. And at seven o’clock, he called me to see if I was okay and to see if I had a good night.”

Savannah agrees with that statement, reiterating that her mother is “everyone’s primary caregiver.”
