She taped the January 31 episode of “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” on January 24, exactly one week after her parents were locked up.

“Last week was the hardest week, I think, of my life and it was hard… hard to understand, process and also help two children help process what happened in our lives,” she said. “On the 17th was my parents’ report date, and never in a million years did I think I’d be talking about both parents, one of my parents, let alone both of them, going to federal prison. There were a lot of tears shed, a lot of anger, a lot of screaming, a lot of being really broken.”

Her younger brother Grayson Chrisley, who she has been looking after, suffered a “breakdown” once his parents were taken into custody.

“Gray has a breakdown, and he’s trying to process my parents and the situation they’re in and how that’s not the image he wants of them,” the 25-year-old explained. “Grayson is 16 years old, [and] There is so much growth going on with him now, and it hurts me to know that my parents are missing out on that.”

Todd is serving 12 years with 16 months of probation, while Julie is set to serve seven years in prison with 16 months of probation after her release.

Both Todd and Julie have maintained their innocence and they plan to file a plea in February.

“I have to figure out how to rebuild and I think we’ll get there at least a little bit,” Savannah said of her family’s situation.

Savannah recently visited both her parents and claims the experience “gave me hope and peace.”

“I have never felt the presence of Jesus more than I did in that room,” he said before adding that some people in the room were misunderstood.

Savannah hopes the episode will help soften the judgments and hearts of her listeners and viewers.

“Just saying goodbye to them from home and knowing that’s potentially the last time they’ll be in the world, like the free world, for God only knows how long,” he explained before adding, “I’d say we’re doing it. good. We okay. It’s hard when your norm isn’t your norm anymore. What I’ve known for 25 years… my parents are gone and it’s hard.”

At this point in the podcast, Savannah is overcome with tears and emotion.

“My dad is my best friend and I don’t just pick up the phone and call him. I can’t send him funny texts when something bad or something stupid or bad happens in my life. That’s what I mean when I say it feels like a slow death,” Savannah admitted. “Because in a sense it is sadness. Because I grieve as usual, I grieve loss. my parents and what i know. Take all that money, I don’t care about any of that. Bring it all, if I can get my parents back, that’s all that matters. I’m definitely put in a very unique situation right now. I’m helping to guide Chloe and Grayson through this process and I have to guide them through this process while I have to guide myself.”
