However, on Saturday evening, Swift and her team decided to postpone her second show in the city, citing the heightened risk following Friday’s tragic incident.
Despite being at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium and getting ready for the show, the “Out of the Woods” singer shared a heartfelt message on Instagram: “I’m writing this from my dressing room at the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio.”
He continued: “The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew must and will always come first.”

Acknowledging the unfortunate death, the 33-year-old singer shared a handwritten note on her Instagram Story, stating that she was “heartbroken” by the tragic death of a fan ahead of her performance at Estadio Nilton Santos in Brazil.
In her post, Swift wrote: “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it’s with a broken heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show.”

He continued, “I can’t tell you how devastated I am by this. There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she’s so beautiful and so young.”
Swift emphasized her inability to discuss the tragedy during her performance, adding: “I’m not going to be able to talk about this from the stage because I’m overwhelmed with grief when I try to talk about it.”
However, he offered his condolences to the family and friends of the young fan, stating, “I want to say now that I feel this loss deeply and my heart goes out to his family and friends. This was the last thing I thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”
One of the organizers of the event, Time for Fun, later confirmed the fan’s identity as 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides Machado. According to their statement in Portuguese, Benevides Machado felt unwell at the scene, received first aid from first responders, and was later transferred to Hospital Salgado Filho, where he died.
