Career
In 2011, Mendez enrolled at Independiente del Valle’s academy. In 2014, he was selected to join the club’s B squad, and on 7 March 2015, he made his first-team debut in a Serie A Primera Etapa win against LDU Loja. He was later loaned to Cultural Leonesa in Spain. After returning to the squad, he came on as a substitute in the team’s defeat against Fuerza Amarilla. It took place on May 13, 2016.
